Advice please! Children's wellies - my DD is size 8 on normal shoes. Do I get a size 9 or 10 wellies?

I would like her wellies to last till at least summer next year. And I can't quite guage the fit as the rubber is usually too hard to press onto the toes, IYKWIM.

Thanks!

I have found most wellies to run bigger, so I just get the size she normally wears and she gets a bit more use. I doubt any shoes you buy now will still fit next summer. At this age their feet grow way too fast!

Thanks! Still wondering if I should get 2 sizes up, as you can always bulk the feet up with thick socks.

can you? Perhaps I should check out Sainsbury. I've been spying this certain wellies for ages and meaning to get it for my DD. Costs a bit more though, which is probably why I want them to last a little longer!

See if they have the same style on Ebay. Surely many mums are in the situation where their LO's grow out of things too quickly. I know I am!!

Thanks JJ for the tip! I looked through ebay but unfortunately none, sob!

My ds was still wearing size 7 wellies when he was an 81/2

So can reliably confirm that most come up big.

I bought £2 wellies from asda this week for ds!

still need to find some for me though...

Argh! I'm hearing all these great bargains! (Greenday covers ears, shuts eyes and hums to herself...) (wink)

These are the ones i got for my DD. I saw it a couple of months ago and loved it! They're well-padded too and IMO, well made. I once got Startrite ones and in a few uses, there were scratches on them which rendered them un-waterproof.

Also, hopefully they can eventually be transferred on to my DS who is 1yr old.
