curlers - shall I try some? Don't know if they're just for grannies

I've a shoulder length layered bob - fancy a bit of wave and body - would curlers do it? Has anybody any advice about which ones I should get?

I put foam (granny ) rollers in my hair and go to bed with them in. It is mega curly the next day but looks fine by evening. Sometimes the curls last two maybe three full days. Yes, I am a minger and will go 3 days without washing my hair.
Alot of people have told me they can;t sleep with the rollers in but I sleep fine with them in.
Make sure you remove them all the next day, as I have went to work and kids school with one or two still in .
