I am so tempted to get a purple dress so that I can wear my yellow shoes with it

Another question, if you were to wear totally clashing colour shoes with the dress, would you have to match the bag too? If not what would you suggest??

LisaLessLumpy · 13/08/2008 08:30

these? So tempted by these, a hen do I was at last weekend, a girl had these on with a purple dress and it looked fab

these are cool too, and you could get a red bag?

How are you with big heels??

CoteDAzur · 13/08/2008 08:41

Buy matching shoes & bag that you can wear with most dresses - silver or gold.

I wouldn't wear shoes with clashing colors like yellow or red. It usually looks clownish (sorry).

LisaLessLumpy · 13/08/2008 08:44

I love clashing colours, I think it shows daring rather than being clownish, but hey if we all agreed life would be boring

widgypog · 13/08/2008 10:29

I like clashing colours too but am afraid to look like a clown . I do have a fairly good grasp on fashion but as I get older I tend to doubt myself. I love some of those shoes but I am not sure if I could walk in some of them!!!!!..am going to shops on Sunday so will have a look. ..thanks you!!

ooh love those new look satin corsage red ones

like we said, it takes all sorts of taste but if I was going for a clashing shoe I would match the bag to the dress, not the shoe

matching bags/shoes is a bit 1950's mumsy to me (and I am a mum , but not from the 50's)

Was in M&S today and saw these, which may suit your dress. They are v. cute, v. dark blackish-purple and nicely low-cut at the front. Would look nice with some v. fine black fishnets.

Chozzer · 14/08/2008 17:15

I like sliver shoes with purple, great dress

widgypog · 14/08/2008 19:50

ooh thanks ..boys ..i like the mary jane shoe for daytime..i may wear silver for evening..i love the dress and hope i can wear it a few times day and night with different shoes

JFly · 14/08/2008 20:07

Gold slingbacks or strappy, then you've got a good evening look going. Not close-toed. Could carry a gold clutch then, but may be too matchy.

I tried these prada ones on minus the dodgy cuff and they are fab. They were £89 in the sale!! I should have bought them. Something like that would be great with your dress and go with loads of other things.

widgypog · 14/08/2008 20:20

oooh love those shoes fly!!!

OP posts:
JFly · 14/08/2008 20:22

I know! I can't believe I didn't buy them for the price. I saw them at Matches in Wimbledon Village if you're in Londinium.... Might still be in the sale???? I'll fight you for them.

MommyHasaHeadache · 14/08/2008 20:34

a peep toe wedge type shoe in a neutral colour

widgypog · 14/08/2008 20:38

am not in London..fly so think it best you get youreself back down there and buy them ..fantasising about then isn't healthy!!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
olympicsnotfederer · 14/08/2008 20:39

fly, those wedges are vile

JFly · 14/08/2008 20:50

Erm, wedges? The ones I linked to aren't wedges. If you're looking at the cuff, I agree. BUT, the shoe alone is mighty adorable if you ask me.

olympicsnotfederer · 14/08/2008 20:54

sorry, got wedges on the brain !!!

I meant the prada ones

ho-hum, best we don't all have the same taste or there would be fisticuffs on the high st !!
