Occasion: hen's night
Location: bar crawl around north London
Other people: don't know 'em very well, all good friends of the bride to be, old school friends etc but they are basically all well-to-do North London Jewish girls, from what I can gather. Certainly not as grotty as the term 'bar crawl' would suggest....

any suggestions?

they're lovely but do feel such glamorous (and expensive) clothes need a touch of lipgloss/mascara at the very least to set them off.

Okay, I did not pay that much for those items, but they were the easiest pics to link to.

And I am not fabulous looking. Maybe I do 'need' makeup, who knows? I just don't happen to wear it and so far no one has vomited in my face.

And I will paint my toenails. Fingernails too. And I will brush my hair.

tracey - got my sister who lives in NYC to buy them, so much cheaper over there. My mum was visiting her and then me and then back to her, so we both shopped up on stuff that was cheaper for the other and got mum to be our mule

No worries, I'll now have a half hour sulk and inwardly blame Dh for not being a millionaire,and then snap out of it, and hot foot it back to Warehouse.

I always used to think I'd never buy designer even if I had the money, but there are some loveky clothes on that site.

And I am not a fan of loads of make-up either- buy a dark grey Bobbi Browns cream Long Wear shadow and just dab it into the socket behind your eyes. Its really subtle and can be applied with your fingers in ten seconds. Perfect!
