How are they any different to the common or garden flip flop??

i saw something in a magazine that made me think they were softer rubber or something. I'd like some.

moondog · 05/08/2008 19:54

they are special and the hight of coolth if flip flop wearing.

cocolepew · 05/08/2008 19:58

They have the name written on them so people will be impressed that you spent well over the odds for 2 pieces of rubber.

moondog · 05/08/2008 19:58

Bollocks.
I could buy identical for about 15p in localBangladeshi market.

very, very comfy and soft. can walk all day in them, no sore feet. threw out all my other flip flops when I got mine.

BlueDragonfly · 05/08/2008 20:04

i tried on havaianas (sp?) and they hurt! Have some super soft 'rocket dog' ones instead and they are LOVELY

NigellaTheOriginal · 05/08/2008 20:31

and you can get teensy weensy baby ones with special heel strap that baby can't walk in butlooks good.

missbumpy · 05/08/2008 21:10

I agree with moondog. Total nonsense. They're made from the same rubber as all other cheapo flipflops. In fact, in Brazil they are just that...cheapo flip flops, nothing special. It's only because fashion mags have sold them to us as something cool that will turn us into Brazilian models that anyone over here is prepared to pay the outrageous price for them. Just my humble opinion!

dinny · 05/08/2008 21:12

emperor's new clothes

snotbuster · 05/08/2008 21:16

I did think they were total nonsense but found some on sale for far less than the usual £20 so bought them. And they were very, very comfy. The soles are definately thicker and softer than on my usual cheapo ones.
But then I lost them on the beach on my holiday .

theexmrsfederer · 05/08/2008 22:07

they are of thicker, denser rubber

extremely comfortable and kinda mould to ya feet

can walk forever in em

moondog · 06/08/2008 05:28

WelliesAndPyjamas · 06/08/2008 05:48

but but but even normal flip flops are comfortable to walk in, right?

theexmrsfederer · 06/08/2008 07:43

I LOVE flip flops of all types.

Once May comes around, that is flip-flop time for me until September. I find them very comfy but not everyone does I think.

Yeni · 06/08/2008 16:45

I was never able to wear flip-flops until I got some Havaianas and I find them incredibly comfortable. I still can't wear the normal type with the foam sole at all.

Carmenere · 06/08/2008 16:49

I have about 5 pairs that I got in Brazil for 2 quid each, they are really, really comfy. but not worth 20 quid. The first pair I bought I got in Paris in a sale for about 7 euros about 3 years ago and they are still the ones I wear most. I do love them, but wouldn't pay London prices for them.

BrownSuga · 06/08/2008 17:03

they're CAD17, so about £9. Don't know why the UK rips off consumers so much.

Also just bought a trike for DS here, worked out to be £80 but when we lived in UK I saw the same one there for about £200.

theexmrsfederer · 06/08/2008 17:40

I paid 13 euros for mine in Portugal. I love them but wouldn't pay full price in rip-off Britain.

BreeVanderCampLGJ · 06/08/2008 17:44

Carmenere bought me mine.

She told me she paid a fortune for them.

Mum2BabyRoo · 06/08/2008 18:19

Rip off prices and give me blisters!
