Another 'I never thought I would post here thread' - help please!

I am a jeans and casual top kind of girl (and happy in my skin ). Tops tend to be tunic/empire shape. What can I wear to go over them when it gets a bit chilly of an evening? Cardies are too slim and tight fitting, while hoodies are too big. Is there an in-between garment I am yet to discover?

I have a couple of casual jackets - one linen, one cord - that I wear on occasions like this. I'll try and find pics of something similar.

A shrug? Takes the attention up and the tunic will still hide the hips. I am also a fan of a gorgeous scarf with a little jacket. Scarves can be pretty, serious, delicate, heavy, thin. Have loads and wear with the same plain jacket/cardi/shrug.

Little jackets? Maybe...but it would have to be just the right shape and material. Any ideas?

Just thought - I am short - 5ft2, and a size 12-14, so bit worried it might make me look a bit square shaped . What do you think?

I'm not very good with shapes, I don't know whether it would suit or not.

BBBee - I am SO not the shape of the woman in that picture! I fear the cardi would cling to all the bumpy bits lol! Thanks for trying - but I know that is definitely not for me

what about a big pashmina or a shawl? i know they're not as fashionable as they were but i love them.

I have a couple of cardis (from Sainsbury's, I am so glam) which have a single large button or tie on the bust then which drape from there

nothing which clings or is tight

they go very nicely over a tunic shape

i cannot describe the young, natural, un-poncey way i wear them ()unfortunately, i wish i could as they are fantastic at warming without adding bulky layers.
