Does anyone know what folk wear on a cruise?!!

Do I need proper eveningwear each night, and what kind of stuff do I kit dd in for the evenings?!!!

My bf says it will all be ultra chavtastic and is laughing at me for booking it - but I really have NO IDEA what to expect!!!

Depends who you've booked with. Are there any formal nights? If not, smart casual is the way to go. Even if there are formal nights, you can opt out. I think the restaurant won't allow shorts/hats/bare chests etc but each company has there own policy-check with them. i don't think dress codes apply to small DC's anyway. When I've been on cruises, just worn floaty skirt/summer dress/cut off trousers etc. remember to take a warm top though as it can get very breezy on deck at night!! Hope you have fun and am very jealous

Hi CJMummy!
Its a Thomsons cruise, billed as 1 formal night and the rest "cocktail dresses"!! Not sure I have anything in either category since the last time I wore that kind of thing was 10 yrs ago and I was a lot thinner!

Am not thinking of going bare chested though

Would generally presume that cocktail dresses were 'formal'?? Think it may be better to call them and ask?
