I too went back to same shape but it was 1 year after having DD1. After DD2 it has been quicker (she is 6 months) but I do pilates and yoga so, as I said, good when standing (and firm) but I don't think It will ever look good when sitting down. Hardly any stretch marks though, and no thickening.

I think the type of birth can make a difference - my first was epi and assisted (and a knightmware) and my second was no medication, natural, non-traumatic and within just a few weeks I was back in old jeans and had lots of energy. (Did also get SPD with DD1s birth, seemed to take me ages to recover from birth, thus virtually no excersise)

Tummy tuck does sound good but I am not that bothered - I have a body I am happy with, so a little bit of wobblyness is ok by me.

thats me wailing and crying over how utterly revolting my body is now. had my first 3 yrs ago and my 2nd 6 months ago, my boobs are saggy, my belly is saggy my arse is huge and i am covered in stretch matks and cellulite, it depresses me so much i eat and eat and eat till my arms hurt and i can hardly breath.
I was 9 stone pre number 1 now im 12 stone 8.

When me and my dp bicker i just eat i hoover everything up in sight, wouldnt be so bad if this wasnt an almost daily occurence.

I will get a grip and be who i want to be. Diet did officially start at 11:30 last night when i was lying in bed and thought, enough really is enough.

so er in answer to the question my body after baby is grossberg. and slightly

mamabea · 18/07/2008 08:58

oh my tummy. No stretch marks but skin like crepe paper. Tits ok now but know that when I stop BF they will be like 'flesh envelopes' (quoting another MN'er) with big nips. Horrible.

Figfingers · 18/07/2008 10:42

Ladies

May I suggest swimming to anyone wishing to tone their midsection..sit-ups are a bit pointless, also some light cardio exercise such as power walking.

Swimming also great for bingo wings.

Then again, I haven´t got DCs.. (runs for cover)

Hogiabach · 18/07/2008 12:23

Ladies,
Google and find your nearest PUSHY MUMS class - it's a great way to get out, meet people and get fit! Plus tone up those wobbly bits......all with baby

I feel great, I have 2 DS (3.5 year and 6 months) felt crap after DS1 had put 4 stone on whilst pregnant and although lost all the weight - had lots and lots of wobbly bits and excess skin. Didn't do any exercise. So after DS2 started running when he was 10 weeks and haven't looked back. Feel great and fitter and firmer than I have been for 4 years...

Countingthegreyhairs · 18/07/2008 13:20

Thanks Lisa, will do!.

Although I have to confess I was thinking of starting on September 1st ....procrastination is my middle name ... had better face the inevitable I think ...

SheikYerbouti · 18/07/2008 13:24

Fucked

saggy belly

stretchmarks on stomach and tighs

boobs gorn south

spd still gipping me after nearly 2 years

norkmaiden · 18/07/2008 13:26

not read thread but -

saggy/untoned/heavier.
Still only sz 10 (was skinnier pre-dc), so smallish by omst standards, but urgh I feel the difference! Norks much diminished and saggy.

yama · 18/07/2008 13:35

I love my body now. I hated having empty breasts after I stopped bfing but they came back and I find it easier to stay slim. I guess I don't do much lounging or afternoon drinking.

Any exercise and the little bit of tummy disappears whereas I went to the gym 3/4 times a week before.

I also feel proud of what my body has done/gone through.

mamachat · 18/07/2008 21:42

jewelsandgems -do you think pilates and yoga really work for the stomach?? Mine is so saggy and I dont want to waste time doing pilates instead of cardio classes if it is not going to work...

Its ok. Its different in that I now have really wide hips but I'm back to being fairly thin and look ok. My boobs are little saggier now but they're still better than most people were to start with, it was the expressing that got them. I do look better dressed though

lovecat · 18/07/2008 21:50

tum like a sunken viccy sponge, all puckered around the navel...

Boobs flat against chest and seem to hang about an inch lower than they used to be - used to have 'upstanding' DDs, now I've got a C if I'm lucky and even in a balcony they look ridiculous...like empty sacks

However, having done LL, actual body size now smaller than pre-preg (was a 12, went up to 18, now a 10) and legs thinner - used to have muscly horse-riding calves and they've gone west, but the upside is I can wear zip-up boots. Put half a shoe size on during pg, lost a shoe size when I lost the weight so am now a 4 rather than a 4.5 as was. Which is weird.

Jewelsandgems · 18/07/2008 22:05

mamachat I know what you mean about wanting to take the class that will make the most difference. I actually do pilates on a friday and something called bodybalance on a tuesday. After friday pilates my whole stomach area is achey in a good way and only few of the excersises make us huff and puff. But, bodybalance is different; we are sweating, huffing and puffing, swearing, grabbing out water bottles and come out flushed and barely able to walk (again in a good way).

If I had the time, I would do these two class anyway, and then maybe some more cardio as you suggested. But, I also do a good 1 hour power walk every day pushing the double buggy so there is that too.

The pilates etc has given me a lovely hourglass shape and toned, well-cut arms. Plus firm arse and shapely legs. There was noticable difference within just a few weeks. All this makes up for the fact that I will never regain my pre-pregnancy firm toned tummy, but that's ok with me - I am happy.

mamachat · 18/07/2008 22:20

jewelsandgems - i did try bodybalance once as my normal class was cancelled, i did find it was much more energitic than I expected.

Yoga and pilates I have tried before but feel you need to know what you are doing before they really work..

Also i have a really bad back at the mo so maybe when it is better will do a few weeks worth of bodybalance and see how it goes...

spugs · 18/07/2008 22:29

baby number 3 is 4 mths old

back in size 10 jeans but with more wobbly bits on tummy, thighs and bum then before. weigh about 8lbs more then my normal weight.

boobs are totally non existant and what skin there is sags

definitly have more stomach skin after this one then i did with the last 2

everything seems a lot softer iykwim, i used to be very toned with abs to die for but cant be bothered/find time to do anything. would love to have a boob job though if i could afford it, would balance everything out.

My body is fab - it grew and gave birth to two babies. I feel proud of it every time I look in the mirror.

Honestly!!

My pelvic floor is shot, though.

wingandprayer · 18/07/2008 22:55

Pelvic floor good - thanks to yoga
Boobs good but only positive effect of being crap bf...
Still about half stone heavier.
Stomach looks like relief map of Snowdonia.
Spanx and a few glasses of wine though and can take on the world

Niceychops · 20/07/2008 16:24

Actually my body could be worse. It's my haggard old face that's taken the battering. Lack of sleep.
