Have purchased a frock - now need help to accessorise - purleeese.

Having not worn a frock for at least a hundred years and with posh wedding to go to have bought a nice one

now I need a bolero/shrug ting to hide the fat arms, a hat, shoes, bag etc.

am thinking maybe cream, or pink, or gol.
what do wise ones think?

Lovely dress and very flattering I should think, especially if you have curves like your namesake.
Were it me, I'd have a pashmina [poshest I could afford], a 50's-ish shoe, and a biggish clutch. In red or maybe red/cream. No hat with that dress, imo unless wedding mega posh .

i do think i'd be better with a cardi of sorts though - pashminas are too easy to take off and then i'd be bareing my fat bits.

a little bolero would look nice too, but I love the glamour of a pashmina

a 50s-ish shoe would be maybe a slingback, maybe pointed toe, maybe even kitten heel, but not if you are on the heavy side.

I think a bright cherry-red looks smart and funky and dressy with brown. Will have a virtual window-shop later

agree with your first thoughts of cream and gold. And pink, if you really like pink. But not everything pink, would look a bit matchy matchy.

Would probably also go with a bluey-green colour - sort of teal/turquoise. I would stick with a neutral/bronze kind of colour for shoes though.

sounds fine. Agree with mazzystar about no hat though, unless you really have to!

What do you have in the way of jewellery? If you favour gold, then you could go for gold, pink or cream accessories. If you have silver, I'd go for turquoise.

Do you have some jangly bangles and some chandelier earrings?

Brown works well with purple, IME. But don't get everything the same colour - purple shrug, brown shoes and bag. Or purple shoes, brown shrug and bag.

I'd go for pink with purple to be honest very now at the moment - go to Acessorise or John Lewis for a pink fascinator or a corsage and then a pink and purple handbag and some pink shoes.

For this very reason if you ever see a pair of coloured shoes in a sale in your size buy them - I have a cupboard full of brightly coloured shoes and lend them out to all and sundry (well people with clean feet!) and never don;t have matching or co ordinated shoes for an outfit!

Don't think the colour of of bling really matter - my rings are all platinum so I only wear silver/platinum/white gold and have never thought to change them if I am wearing any particular colour and it hasn;t ever not gone!!

Twinkie - I have just started doing that on the shoe front, I now have bright red and bright yellow, pale pink and bright blue, also just ordered some bronze and silver in the sales. I have never really been interested in shoes but just lately something has just clicked and I can't stop buying
