Are they any good?

I wouldn't climb a mountain in the rain in one, but they keep you dry for the school run, if that's what you mean. Sizes come up big.

no-one has reported back on the new style, but the 2007 type were allegedly waterproof if boxy and shapeless

Were they the jackets with hoods and buttons?
I had the 2007 and all the buttons fell off
But the hood comes in handy

I have the spotty 2007. It softened up a lot after a few times of wearing so didn't keep that boxy look, but you definitely needed a size smaller than usual. Don't know how the new style fits though, sorry.

with boden is it a site where you just buy out right or can you have an account like with other catalouges?

Kittyvonditty, get yourself down to H&M, they have raincoats for £20, a black and white small print and a purple pink bold print, both with hoods, both a line in style with a zip for half the price of Boden and you can try before you buy.

New style is much better than 2007 - all the buttons fell of my 2007 coat. I like the 2008 zipped version very much, it hangs on me better and the hood doesn't irritate me either.
