Had the August Vogue through the other day, with the autumn preview. 'Soft goth' is in, apparently. Andn big tartan . Sculptural stuff, esp shoulders/lapels.

Earlybird · 06/07/2008 09:33

Are you giving up due to uncooperative weather, or because you can't find any summer attire you like?

iirc, it was the same last summer.

OllieWollieWoo · 06/07/2008 09:54

JackieNo - soft goth, big shoulders and tartan? Seriously? Arrgghh! I may as well never enter a shop again for the next 6 months! Thought I'd left my tartan days behind me circa 1985! Wonder what soft goth actually is? Head to toe in darkish grey rather than black or a pale face with just a hint of bronzed glow maybe??? The mind boggles!

(Wonder if by December I'll be eating my words and wearing a black, tartan jacket with the biggest shoulder pads seen to man??? Probably!)

JackieNo · 06/07/2008 10:05

Ollie - not all at the same time, I don't think. From what I can gather, soft goth is goth with extra frills. Will definitely be avoiding tartan, I think.

JackieNo · 06/07/2008 10:06

And I think the whole sculptural shoulders thing is just an extension of the puffed sleeves that have been around this summer, only more exaggerated and a bit harder edged.

Gobbledigook · 06/07/2008 10:52

Nope, not me, I'm going to Lanzarote in August so I'm quite looking forward to wearing my summer stuff, even if it's just for those 2 weeks
