I have bought two, yes two jackets from Per Una today. Is it a slow and inevitable slide into a middle age of Footglove shoes, the Radio Times on subscription and M&S custard tarts???

Ah but for some strange reason, they always have some nice jackets, but like Lands End really. Rest of the stuff is grantastic.

Amphibimum · 05/07/2008 23:50

moondog · 06/07/2008 00:02

It looks minging here! Actually very nice with jeans, a vest top, nice snadals and a long necklace.
That hideous scarf came with it. I told the woman on counter to keep it as it made me feel as if I was an air hostess with British Midland circa 1975.

I don't understand Per Una - it's all too busy and flouncy for my liking - too many colours..I don't think I've ever bought anything from them, except for a nice leather bag many years ago.

Hassled · 06/07/2008 14:23

I think Cod once made the point that M&S is unique amongst websites in making their clothes look worse than they actually are.

(I quite like Per Una stuff )

PrincessPeaHead · 06/07/2008 14:28

yes.

you should be ashamed of yourself.

return them immediately. And that polycotton print skirt with an elasticated waist you haven't 'fessed up to yet. Yes, you know, the one in the grey and peach fern pattern....

I LOVE M&S custard tarts! Don't like the jackets much though, sorry - but then I don't "do" blue so was biased anyway. Why do M&S persist with the Per Una range when the Limited Collection and Autograph ones are so much nicer?

bearmama · 06/07/2008 18:15

Lol at "grey and peach fern pattern"

I wear footglove shoes but they are nice and have a Miu-Miu type flower.(I was amazed when I saw them, M&S shoes are usually vile and fit worse, acceptable only to the navy handbag-and-blazer brigade).

But then I have arthritis so have already entered oldfart-dom.

I am currently flicking through a catalogue that came with a Sunday supplement, debating on whether to buy the Repro-cabinet that secretly houses my Radio Times back issues, or the tapestry-topped stool.
Decisions, decisions...

butwhybutwhy · 06/07/2008 18:16

Eurghhh

shudder at Per Una.
Join the queue with the designers Moondog.

greenelizabeth · 06/07/2008 18:51

Just bring them back. At least M&S will allow that.

Is it a full moon? Ok, well we won't tell anyone. Your secret is safe.

greenelizabeth · 06/07/2008 18:52

"Are you a Joanna-Trollope-style middle-aged tory voter? DO you work as a hospital secretary"

I laughed so hard I nearly choked.
