I am shotrt, fat, big boobs and own NO outdoorsy clotyhes that fit me.

As is work thing, I need to look fairly smart.

I HATE wearing trousers as they never suit me (27 inch insode leg +wobbly thighs=pig's legs)

I have NO IDEA what to wear!

SheikYerbouti · 05/07/2008 09:15

Maybe the KAsabian in either the brown or the blue?

(actually scrub that - looking at the 'other pictures' that one looks quite long - I thought it was knee-length).

lazarou · 05/07/2008 09:18

Really, i thought you were tall. I'm only 5ft 2"

Not that that's going to help you here....

ChanJackieTylerNo · 05/07/2008 09:19

NIce blue, but maybe a bit pastelly?

ChanJackieTylerNo · 05/07/2008 09:20

This? A bit darker. And White stuff sizes are big, aren't they, so you'd probably be OK in a 12.

ChanJackieTylerNo · 05/07/2008 09:28

If you want a straighter one, maybe this (I guess you'll either love the frill or hate it).

SheikYerbouti · 05/07/2008 09:39

Frills are def no-no, although skirt would look nice in a skinny person.

Also, not too short, as knees are terrible

Sadly, most clothes look shit because of my big arse and hanging belly.

ChanJackieTylerNo · 05/07/2008 09:41

Well the White stuff ones would be knee length on a moggle, so I'm guessing just below knee length on a more petite person like you. A-line should be good, as it should skim over the belly and arse areas.

lazarou · 05/07/2008 09:42

Sheik! Stop having such a downer on yourself. You're gorgeous, and you have fabulous hair.
Go to Bristol and find something. Not much choice in Bath.

ChanJackieTylerNo · 05/07/2008 09:48

Agree with lazarou - don't be so hard on yourself. 14's a lovely size to be.

Too bright?

ChanJackieTylerNo · 05/07/2008 09:49

This is lovely - but might be a bit long. Could you go and measure a skirt you already have whose length you like, so we can make sure we're in the right area?

14 is humongous on me. I used to be a size 8 and was still a bit chunky then.

Anyway, I think I will probably wear a skitrt. BUT what footwear? I don;t want to be the stupid cow who gets her stilettos caught in the mud, so....

OP posts:
ChanJackieTylerNo · 05/07/2008 12:45

Crocs?

Birdly · 05/07/2008 12:46

Sheik - a friend of mine is going to this, but I suspect she's going to be more in the casual camp than the hobnobbing camp!

With any horsey event in the UK it's best to be prepared, so whatever your outfit is you should definitely take wellies and a waterproof coat. If it does start raining, and the place turns into a sea of mud, you can sling the coat and wellies on, and won't look like 'the stupid cow who gets her stilettos stuck in the mud' (as you so aptly put it!).

A lot depends on what you're doing there too. If you're going to be spending time in the stables, footwear will need to be fairly practical. If you're working on a stall, or something like that, you can wear whatever you like on your feet, but have the wellies and socks stashed away nearby (or in the car, if you can park near to where you're working).

Sorry - I'm not much help with the main part of the outfit! I definitely agree that you should avoid flared skirts though. I'd just chuck in the car anything at all you think you might need, depending on the weather just before the event and on the day itself. If it's warm, maybe skirt, cool top and possibly a light jacket? Not sure how posh you have to be. HTH!

ChanJackieTylerNo · 05/07/2008 12:47

WHat a shame these wedge wellies have sold out .
