Bikini waxing advice...

I'm having a bikini wax this weekend, despite being 30 weeks pregnant, I simply cannot tolerate hair, however, is there any pain relief prior/post waxing that really works as my pain threshold has gone to pot recently

are you supposed to wax while preggers?

DazedEmma · 04/07/2008 23:44

I've read that soothing the bikini area afterwards with a cloth soaked in warm chamomile tea works wonders, is this true?

oh i don't know chocolate, shit I just assumed I could as I purposely mentioned to the beautician that I'm pregnant and she said "no problem"...

Am i not supposed to be waxing??

Maybe ask for hot wax as opposed to strip? I have hot wax for brazilians and find it completely painless on bikini area.

Have just had an enlightening chat with a midwife mum from dcs school - she said they much prefer it when labouring mums have had waxing done!

yeah they will be using hot wax, i asked... so it's ok to wax?

sorry i paniced you but i did hear different but it was a while ago now! painkillers work but obviously not for you right now! rubbing ice before waxing works too

Take something to read, play on your phone etc I always find distracting myself helps. When I wasn't preg I would take a couple of codeine before going in but that's not an option for you.

If it's the after sting that hurts buy some aloe vera gel and pop in fridge, very soothing. Also try and focus on the fact it doesn't last more than 15mins - no time at all!

Well, I think you have to rationalise it - it really does not hurt for more than a couple of seconds, and that's only a brief 'ouch!'.
