i have dry skin too. i went to the chanel couinter a while ago to try the vitalumiere one out after you recomended ut and it didnt suit me at all.
i git the girl on the counter to apply it and it looked really orange on me, she said it was the best colour for my skin too.
came away very disappointed.

I've got the lancome one. It is quite good, possibly doesn't cover as well as the Chanel one. Or maybe my skin is just crap atm. Still it is nice enough.

i am sick of paying £20-£30 for foundations to find out they arerubbish. i paid £22 for a mac one and it is not as good as i thought. i want to find a perfect one for my skin!

Ah yes LandL, the endless search for the perfect foundation.

I'm happyish with Clinique's Supermoisture atm, but I know it's not "the one"

i have that and am not too impressed by it. it makes me look washed out, again it was the counter girls choice of colour so i just take their word for it.

maybe it is my skin that is so bad nothing looks good on it! but i know it isnt really that bad. i have some discolouration around my nose and mouth and skin can be blotchy and patchy, but in fairly good condition otherwise!

it is quite dry too and dont want to look cakey.

Sorry to butt in, have you tried mineral foundation?

I use Bare Escensuals and its fab. Seems strange at first to use a powder and brush, but it gives me the dewy finish I like and its much easier than liquid foundation once you get used to it.

i have a mineral veil but it didnt seem to do anything. maybe i didnt put enough on. i was scared of looking cakey as i thought i might with it being powder, so only applied a tiny bit, plus it is only a small size so the lid is also tiny. i tipped a bit into the lid and tried to apply it from there but i think i was doing it wrong!

Mineral Veil is the equivalent of blotting powder, I don't bother with it. The foundation is great though, it is hard to believe that it isn't cakey and it does take a while to get used to it.

I buy mine from ebay, the foundation is about £15 from there.

i might try some then. i find it really hard to get the right colour as i have a ruddy complextion and look strsnge if i cover it up too much.
i bought a jane iredale liquid mineral foundation but that was just too strange. i couldnt apply it at all. like putting gone off milk on my face

I use the medium, the fair one is too light. Medium is pink toned and medium beige is yellow toned. Sounds like medium would be good for you.
I searched for a really good foundation for ages and tried nearly everything, then was seduced into trying this while watching QVC
