Knee-high boots - what are the rules for work?

I'm thinking of investing in my first pair of knee high boots, but am nervous about them being work appropriate!
Are these suitable, e.g. with an almost-knee-length skirt? I imagine I could also wear them with a miniskirt out of work

I wear knee high boots - they are perfectly acceptable in my office - but I am a little more thoughtful as to what I wear them with at work. I wear little ankle boots/heels to work mostly.

Plus, the ones you have linked are on the more demure side anyway due to the block heel so I'm sure they will be fine anywhere.

I love boots in general though - but I'm a high heel fan due to being small.

I suppose it depends on your job if you need to wear safety/branded shoes, but for normal office jobs, women of all ages have worn them since I first started work. Don't really see the difference, warmth aside, but many people wouldn't be comfortable with short skirts/bare legs. Approx knee length and with or without tights shouldn't bother anyone, even if you have a conservative code.

They're fine. I have a long calf/leg can never get them to meet my knee! 🙄Prefer flat or very low heel too. Unicorn boots!

Princess Anne is a huge fan of knee high boots, wears them to all kinds of engagements. They're very common at my workplace (accountant) although sometimes I get fed up wearing them all day sitting at a desk, and keep more comfortable shoes at the office to change into.

When they go over your knees and you look like you’re auditioning for Pretty Woman.

I disagree, there is a huge difference in over the knee boots and the thigh high boots you’re talking about.

Over the knee ones look a bit puss-in-boots but just under the knee are fine and stylish (maybe not with a too high heel though).
