Laura Geller baked foundation

I’m seeing ads everywhere, and the site has lots of discounts atm, but I can’t afford to waste money, so I am looking for honest reviews. Is it actually that good?
I’m early 50’s, usually use a tinted cc cream and a light sweep of loose powder, but feel I need something to help give my skin a little glow. I was looking at the baked balance-n-brighten colour correcting foundation after doing the shade match quiz. Does really it sit nicely on the skin and help with fine lines like it says?
TIA.

I used it for years and if you like light coverage like I do then it’s great. I only stopped using it as my skin is now between the 2 lightest colours, fair and whatever the next one up is. The next one up is too dark for my skin now that I wear spf and never have colour in my skin. The lightest is now too white for my skin.

literally for decades they were both perfect, the lightest for winter, the one up for summer.

A671090 · 25/10/2026 06:53

Personally I didn’t rate it at all. In fact I only used mine a few times then gave up - it’s didn’t cover particularly well.

Im mid 50s and have started using Delilah recently - I love it! Reasonably priced - the foundation sits really well and the eye crayons are amazing!

stopringingme · 25/10/2026 07:12

QVC sell it, and they have a 60 day return policy so if you want to try it you can and if you don't like it you can return for a refund, you just lose the postage.

missionaccomplished · 25/10/2026 07:19

I thought it was awful, really old fashioned and caked in lines (I don’t have many). I wrote a poor/honest review and they refunded part of my order which I thought was good.

dudsville · 25/10/2026 07:26

I thought it was awful. I got it via the LG website as they had even more discounts in addition to the return policy. When I went to return it they told me to keep it and refunded me. I gave the products to my mum, she loved it! I have dry skin, she doesn't. Good luck!

ThisCantBeRightCanIt · 25/10/2026 08:23

I love it! Its the only foundation I use now. Im 38 so a few fine lines around my eyes and it doesn't sit in them at all. I have found liquid foundations just irritate and split. I use it eveyday with just a little concealer under my eyes. But I will say I have oily skin, if you have naturally dry skin you need a good moisturiser underneath. I use baked n balance which i sat is medium coverage ive used the heavier one a couple of times for events but its a bit too much for me

Cazziebo · 25/10/2026 08:38

It worked for me for a time. It gave great coverage and lasted all day. Made my skin look almost flawless. As I got older I found it settled into lines and accentuated wrinkles.

DrMarkSloan · 25/10/2026 08:38

I have only/combination skin & was really excited to try it. It was awful - settled into my pores, was cakey & just generally made m face look a lot older than it was. Luckily I was only trying some of my mums so didnt pay for it.

Like do many things you have to work out what works for you - my mum likes it & I hate it! Id definitely try qvc as you can return it easily if it doesn't suit.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 25/10/2026 08:52

A friend of mine bought it and said it was awful. Made her look older than she was. I have wrinkles and lots of downy hair on my face so I didn’t bother trying it.

If you’re looking for recommendations for older skin, I have tried the new Clinique balm foundation and it’s the best light coverage foundation I’ve ever tried. Can’t recommend it enough!

But as previous poster has said, you have to find what’s right for you. I must admit that I’m put off any product that constantly offers discounts and ‘hurry now’ adverts. If it’s good, there wouldn’t need to be so many plushy adverts.

floridafirefly · 25/10/2026 08:53

I’m early 50s and tried it.. caked in all the wrong spots. I am now a fan of these white foundations you see, not Smooch per se (haven’t tried it), but Prime is excellent

Mumteedum · 25/10/2026 09:11

I think it's quite drying. I need a good primer with it and also use a spray on top to give my skin some moisture.

It blends really well if you buy the other stuff though. I don't think it's wonderful on it's own as a product. I do think the bronzer and blush and baked powder work nicely together though.

Vitrolinsanity · 25/10/2026 10:44

@floridafireflyi cannot advise strongly enough against Smooche. I’m 58 and have good skin, few lines and usually only use Olay BB fair.
Smooche itched, made me look like a geisha when it coloured and then settled into patches and found lines I couldn’t even with a magnifying mirror.

floridafirefly · 25/10/2026 11:16

@Vitrolinsanityyes - but I like Prime. As I said

TheOlderIGetTheStayerIHome · 25/10/2026 15:42

Some very mixed reviews! I think I will keep on looking and find something I can at least test out for colour/feel/look. QVC may offer a good returns policy, but it would be £15 more than on the actual LG site, and LG doesn’t do in store testers anywhere.

Thanks all.

I think my answer is alternating. I wear LG mostly but have Trinny tinted serum foundation too. Sometimes I like a cream one and sometimes I don't.

StormGazing · 25/10/2026 18:11

I love it! I’m 54 and can’t tolerate cream foundation as I get so hot and it feels awful. I’ve also bought the bundle with the brush that’s great and the palette they had eye shadow, highlighter and blusher plus a mirror - it’s changed my life as i didn’t wear make up for years

Vitrolinsanity · 25/10/2026 18:14

floridafirefly · 25/10/2026 11:16

I can’t speak for Prime. I did read your post, no need to be snitty. I can speak for Smooche.

hattie43 · 25/10/2026 18:26

I’ve used it for a long time and love it .

mantlepiece · 25/10/2026 18:36

I’ve used LG products for years and love them. I’m 70 now with lots of wrinkles!
I also alternate things at different times of the year etc. I use eborian cc cream and their anti redness cream. I’ve used these for years too.
ive never used traditional foundations with any success as I prefer a more natural finish to my makeup.

Worrieddancemum · 25/10/2026 18:40

I’m 47 and use it! I have the pallete and love it!

ladymalfoy · 25/10/2026 18:43

Don't rate it. Even with the brush more found it's way onto the atmosphere than my face.
I do rate JMLs one though.

Rebootnecessary · 25/10/2026 18:44

I really like it but you do need a good primer. Easy to apply and light coverage, exactly what I want.

letmebetheone · 25/10/2026 19:05

I was the same seeing ad after ad till I finally decided to get some.

I love it and will never go back to liquid foundation. It doesnt cover so well with just the brush so I use a sponge but I love the end result.

Both my sisters have bought it as well and we all love it. My only reservation is that I bought the box set so if you are going out in the evening its too big for a handbag.

HouseOfGoldandBones · 25/10/2026 19:08

I hated it. Cakey & settled into all my fine lines. I use the ILIA serum foundation now. It's fantastic. I like it better than the Victoria Beckham one.

Thisbastardcomputer · 25/10/2026 21:21

I love it but you need primer first to stop it settling into lines and wrinkles, it lasts a long time and you don’t need to use much.
