Savlon.
I've done this before, that is why now when I do it I always do it at night so skin will settle down before I go out in public.
It will settle down.
Only in a couple of days the area will be dry as the skin heals, so keep it well moisturised.

girlandboy · 01/07/2008 20:53

Bleach it next time!

Right then, Savlon it, and then a bit of carefully applied make-up tomorrow if it's still obvious.

Goober · 01/07/2008 20:59

It will settle down.
Just leave it alone.
Not a numpty, numptys have moustaches, you don't.

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 01/07/2008 21:00

my sister did this as she was getting teased in school about her moustache!! (she is dark haired pale skinned) she waxed it and about an hour later she had a red raised bruised looking top lip!! the only thing that helped was anti-inflammatory cream but something like savlon or sudocrem on thick would do the job i would have thought!!
if not a fake nose and glasses would be a sufficient disguise if you feel too embarrassed only joking

leave it alone, you have taken top layer of skin off and risk making it even more inflamed. do not touch it do not put anything on it. recovery will be swift.

also remember that it looks a squillion times worse to you than anyone else.

Hassled · 01/07/2008 21:03

By a strange coincidence I did mine for the first time a couple of hours ago - and it's still smarting. Hurt more than the time I dropped a jar of chutney on my toe. I look a bit red but have read lots of threads on the subject of waxing moustaches and they all say the redness will go down overnight - relax!

Goober · 01/07/2008 21:07

And at least you didn't drop a jar of chutney on your top lip, that'd be a mess.

Notquitegrownup · 01/07/2008 21:09

Try rubbing ice onto it. Ought to take the inflamation down a little too.

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 01/07/2008 21:11

goober it would also be a feat of physics unless lying down of course

NOTHING
not ice or sudocream or lavender bath salts.

Agree with notquitegrownup. Ice worked for me when i did mine for the first time. never again, next time use sensitive facial hair removal cream

Have you taken the skin off? or is it just red and swollen?

Goober · 01/07/2008 21:23
