I've got big boobs that, following menopause, just got bigger. I've permanent grooves in my shoulders from the years of straps digging in.
I would like to find a bra with no wiring and soft sides and straps that actually hold the girls up.

There are lots of ads online for bras like this and I wondered if anyone could recommend please.

I will pay anything to be comfy and not look like I have a large pillow stuffed under my clothes... Thanks in advance

I think the one thing that made a difference to me as a 34FF was finding bras with side supports which sort of act like if you put your hands either side of your breasts and pushed them together.

Pour Moi Sofia which is all over social media is the most comfiest bra I have ever worn. I was in the area where they have physical shops and was fitted by an incredibly knowledgeable staff member. Their Rebel bra is also a side support bra also fits but really flattens the boobs down so I just look a lot smaller.

Google side support bras. I bought both Panache Envy and Fantasie Reflect through Next for ease of try on and returns. Sofia is the most comfortable for me and the first time I genuinely don't feel like I am wearing a bra. All of these are full cup as I have soft breast tissue (over 50) so I don't want to spill out.

Have you checked out Royce bras, I only came across them in a local shop but they do some very comfortable and sturdy non-underwired bras. The only ones I have had that don’t twist or lack support.

my fav though has to be the soft wired Elomi nursing bras. I ware them even though I am not breastfeeding as the wire is more flexible and fits better to my shape than a normal wired bra which digs in

also agree with the comments that the band has to be tight or you get back pain. The Royce bras I had were good because they had a lot more hook options for sizing, if one day I did it up too loose it noticed and had to adjust by miday

@DwellerOfWeebleHouse do they make side support bras for sleeping?
I find sleeping on my back really uncomfortable because of lack of support at the sides and wonder if this could help

They do a lounge bra, so no wire but it does have hook and eye fastening. I wear crop bra top things in bed to keep the boobs up off my rib cage. Otherwise they can stick to my body and I feel them peel off when I turn over. It also makes me hot to have them against my body.

Rigby and Peller. Yes they cost a bloody fortune. But if you are anywhere near London make an appointment and just get a fitting. Dont actually have to buy bras from them but they give you a good idea. Then you know what crazy size you are after elsewhere. Do have to spend a bit for sone serious cantilevering.
I have very big boobs compared to my small back. Can honestly say their bras make everything sleek yet perky.

I am a J cup.and swear by Bravissimo Satine. It is wired so not for you but if you visit a Bravissimo shop and chat to the assistants they should be able to find something for you. I have never had poor service in a Bravissimo and i have been to a few.

I'm the same and I'm devastated that they've discontinued the Satine bra! I can't find anything comparable so I'm now going between the Bravissimo Millie and Elomi Lucie.

Actually yes I wore the Elomi underwired one when I was pregnant and feeding and that was good. The underwired are softer than usual, so worth a try.

Look at Body & Bra, I've got 6 of their bras & even though they come in sizes like Xl 2Xl etc they always fit so well & stop the droopy boob syndrome.

Spaniels4Eva · 21/10/2026 20:39

I'm a 38FF and swear by Elomi. They're such a good foundation, hold you well but are comfortable too.

The Shoulder ease bras from Bravissimo have been a total game changer. Yes, they’re wired but you barely notice. The straps don’t fall down, the extra panel at the back takes the extra support. And they come in lots of colours

If you are near Bath/Bristol, I'd recommend Perfect Fit in Keynsham, as well as going to Bravissimo in Bath.
