Looking for comfortable party footwear to go with this dress- can anyone help?!

I bought this dress on a whim and I really love it, despite it not being like anything I usually wear. It’s really soft and comfortable!

Now I need footwear to go with it. I have strange feet- fallen arches, and I’m not great with heels due to a knee issue, but could cope with a small one.

Can you help, oh wise ones?

Those little Amazon sling backs linked to upthread are £27 OP, did you miss it?

For one night i don't blame you not wanting to spend loads.

Is it just me who finds most of the Esska shoes ugly ?
They are so clumpy.
They are always recommended on Mumsnet, so are really popular.

They are great because they look nice on & are comfortable. I wouldn’t be seen dead in a court shoe though.

Flat mary jane’s are incredibly hard to pull off with a shorter dress as an adult.

@NormasArsewhat style of shoe do you like?

Banjas · Yesterday 17:23

We’ll agree to differ @boxofshite
I like a court shoe and not a clumpy ugly platform 😂

I still love a high single sole sandal but different clothes & activities call for different shaped shoes.

I agree they are not good, they remind me of the awful Joanie clothes that used to be recommended on here, terrible designs, usually in cheap polyester. They went bust but it was always terrible Joanie dresses and ugly clumpy esska shoes.

Unspeakable ugly.

They aren't. Platform sandals remind me of the worst of the 1970s.

I bought these from Esska for my daughter’s wedding - fabulously comfortable and they come in various colour. I’d highly recommend

They are and that’s regardless of whether you like platforms or not.

Those are very similar to the ones I fell over in!

@NormasArsewhat style of shoe do you like?

I usually wear trainers or trail runners. I prioritise comfort 😬.

Sorry- yes, I did miss it! I quite like the shape, but I think something with a bit more finesse, if that makes sense? They look a bit more office like.

I think white cowboy boots would look great with the dress.

minnowonthesay · Yesterday 19:06

I’d wear thicker black tights and either a black suede court shoe or ankle boot

The dress is knee length- I think it might look a bit odd, but wouldn’t if the dress was shorter!

So, I’ve been looking for slingbacks, prompted by some of the posts.

What the jeff is going on here?

I don’t know whether you’re joking, but I actually agree with you. I’m just not sure I could pull it off without looking like I was off to line dancing class.

In your opinion. In my opinion Esska platform shoes are just awful. They make me think of Gary Glitter and the underage teenage groupies being abused by 70s rock stars.

i think there are people promoting them in here, it is a tiny company, less than ten staff, not a big brand at all, and I think some one who works for them, or someone is paid to promote them in this forum, there is no other explanation for some such unknown tiny company to feature so much, especially as rhe shoes are awful and, like the Joanie brand which was similarly promoted, not remotely on trend,

but yes I think these posts are from someone who works for them or is paid to promote them, or some posters are simply easily influenced.

Of course it’s my opinion & you are entitled to yours. After all good style cannot exist without bad style!

NormasArse · Yesterday 22:10

Speaking of Esska- these would actually look fabulous with my dress, but they’ve sold out of my size… and they were too expensive anyway.
