How long do curls last? Help Please!

I am having my hair cut and coloured in a couple of weeks and in the evening I am going to a party.

I want to ask the hairdresser to make my shoulder length straight hair a bit curly - was thinking of asking them to do it with the straighteners.

Trouble is my appointment is at 12, so will be done by 2ish at the latest. The party isnt until the evening and will run until early hours.....will the curls stay in place for that long and still look ok towards the end of the evening? Never had it done before so no idea how long it lasts!

It will be fine I am sure. If I curl mine they last all night and look all tousled the following day. Sure you will look gorgeous!

you will have to ask the hairdresser i think. some hair will hold a curl better than others, if your hair is very fine and straight then unlikely to last, but would probably look crap anyway so no loss. if thick and slightly wavy then should be great.

i am bystander here though as am curly myself

I think if your hair is like mine, straight & doesn't hold curl well, then getting it done too tight & letting it drop is the way to go.

On my wedding day I nearly burst into tears when I saw my hair as the hairdresser gave me the most horrid girly little ringlets. She promised me they would look perfect by the time of the wedding and warned me not to mess with them (which I ignored). She was right, they were just right and even lasted me until next day - I guess that doesn't say much about my wedding night!!

ah its not for another 2 weeks displacement.

I will talk to hairdresser - not sure if my hair holds curl because never had it done before. Cant do it at home - always cock it up!

lol at spangle and your wedding night!!
