Flattering barrel or cuffed joggers (for a flight)

MarshaMarshaMarsha · 11/10/2026 09:13

Does anyone have any recommendations? Tried the brushed jersey barrel trousers from Uniqlo but they were a bit “worky”.. I want something with a flattering waist band not really bulky around the waist like jogging bottoms tend to be. Ideally in black or charcoal. Size 14.

I love a barrel cut...

Softpebbles · 12/10/2026 22:38

I recently bought these and at 5ft 5 they were a nice length. Not too heavy. I liked the look of the bornoulli ones but the trust pilot reviews put me off.

I have 2 pairs of these , I practically live in them. I just wish they did more colours.

Me too! They are a brilliant fit and wash beautifully, I’d like some other colours as well.

Me too. I’ve retired my straight cuts for the time being, they look very dated.

SchoolOfCool · 13/10/2026 09:20

I have a different style from here and find the fabric a bit too thin. It means I have to wear the exact right pants under or they look lumpy/ vpl. I've relegated them to sleep/ yoga only.

Owners of the M&S ones, how tall are you? I'm 5'8" and struggle to find long enough legs in tracksuits. Almost impossible for my tall thin teenager. Clothes manufacturers are going to need to get better at tall ranges because I see a LOT of tall kids about.

Edit to say the linked bam ones are a lovely style though

I found a pair of Levi straight cut jeans I haven't worn for ages. They fit again! I love the wash! But they look really wrong and blah on me compared to my barrel legged trousers. Meh.

Softpebbles · 13/10/2026 11:59

@XiCi I am a 10 and the S fitted nicely. Not over sized though.

I love my seasalt ones. Great quality for the price

Trappedinthecastofawhodunnit · 13/10/2026 12:05

The white company has got dark grey ones - but I’m looking for navy

Pennyfan · 13/10/2026 13:00

They are also incredibly soft and comfortable and don’t drag on the floor-essential when using plane toilets.

There is no such thing as a flattering barrel leg trouser. This addition addiction too fast fashion scares me for Budget reasons. I have trousers that are 25 years old but are still classics.

Trousers are not as comfortable as joggers.

I’m 5’10” and find the Goodmove joggers the perfect full length (I hate cropped trousers!) Have had them for a couple of years and finally just bought a second pair. I do think they come up a bit big though. I’m a (postpartum and fluctuating) 14 and thought my old size 12s must have stretched so bought a 14, but they are far too big so just reordered in 12, but I’m currently a 14 in my other M&S trousers.

Born nouli are very flattering and ideal for travel.

Are you planning on wearing compression socks for a long haul flight? If so a wider ankle situation makes it easier to get them on and off

God why do people wear these clown trousers?
They look awful!
It’s a veerrry odd fashion design. 🙄

Not as awful as the barrel leg crops I saw someone in the other day! IMO the ugliest trousers ever dreamed up by a designer who must have thought, ‘Well, plenty of them will be daft enough to pay good money…’

Trappedinthecastofawhodunnit · 14/10/2026 11:11

I think I might have found my pair - flat around the waist, narrowing at the ankle but not cuffed, stretchy. Expensive though - I'd have preferred to pay less.

I have these too and came on to recommend them - I love mine so much I want to wear them all the time and may need a second pair - I am 5 foot 5 ish and they sit perfectly around my ankle bones I can wear with boots or trainers . I could nave sized down and a snugger fit would probably come
up higher

I also have these and they are lovely, so comfortable and look great on. Highly recommend Born Nouli generally.

They don't have any reviews on Trustpilot but plenty of positive reviews on other sites. Have you got them confused with a site called Born Living Yoga who do have very poor reviews and come up if you google Born Nouli?
