Clothes for growing child

My nephew is 8 yet fits into clothes for 11 year olds, it’s not a weight problem but a height/limbs problem! He now since summer only has one pair of black jeans he fits into.

I’ve just ordered him some Matalan trousers and jeans and boxer shorts but where/what do other parents do?

Yes but what I'm saying is even the bigger clothes my nephew is being bought eg recently for 10 year olds he’s now outgrown them in a few months and into next year up! It’s expensive but also time consuming. Anyway I’ve bought him some Matalan stuff, eBay stuff and will do a small H&M order for him too. Prob buy 12 year old clothes.

This is just part of the parcel of having children though, they grow and you need to buy them new things. Sometimes they grow a lot in a short space of time. I actually find shoes more expensive when this happens as it's trainers, school shoes, PE trainers, football boots, winter boots, slippers etc all at once.

It's nice you're helping out, but why isn't his mum sorting this out for him?

Vinted is good if cost is an issue, try to find someone selling a lot of the one size and make bundles to save on postage. Buy a size up too, so of he's wearing age 12 I'd be tempted to buy age 13 winter things to make sure they last the full season, they won't be too big for long.

My son is a little younger but we have the same problem, he’s tall and skinny. I always buy his trousers from next. They do skinny fit joggers which work well. I get their jeans in slim fit with the elastic with a button in the waistband to tighten them. His school trousers are next skinny fit too which also have the elastic with button in the waistband. He lives in shorts as much as possible though and wears 3 sizes smaller than his actual age, I just pick longer styles for him.

My son is 9 next week and needs 11 in trousers due to height. He is tall and slim, I have to get his waist adjusted (cheaper than I thought, local person).
Just buy clothes that fit him, I hope you are not worried about how buying bigger ages looks (I've had some shocked looks weirdly when told my son wears size 11).
Next is a bit taller, and H&M do ages 8-10 - 10-12 etc.
During warmer months he just wears shorts and was 8-9, next summer will be 9-10. But imagine will be size 12 in trousers.

He is also a size 5 shoe!

Just buy what fits. All boys on my son's dad's side are tall. I'm 5ft nothing.

I don't buy my kids slippers for this reason, just seems ridiculous to buy yet more footwear when they keep outgrowing it.

Vinted is the way to go imo. I bought a bundle of elasticated waist jeans for my son the other day for about £10, inc postage. He’s 4, nearly 5, and they’re 9-10 😅 he is very tall for his age, and broad shouldered, but sometimes it just feels silly. Buying clothes all the time really is just part of having children though, it is what it is. Selling outgrown stuff on Vinted and using that money to buy bigger makes it feel less painful 😂

It’s the thing with my nephew though he grows a lot and quickly! It’s not even the cost, it’s finding stuff that fits, will last etc. he’s not so bad with t shirts and sweatshirts, they fit better for longer.

DS is 7 and for length he needs age 9-10 but he put a pair of old favourite age 4-5 shorts on yesterday that had mixed the charity shop bag and they fit with a gap at the waist albeit they were very short! He wore them to do some gardening
