AI images on Vinted - good or bad?

I've noticed that lots of clothes on vinted are being AI generated onto nice looking women in aspirational backgrounds. And occasionally made overtly sexual, which seems to get lots of favourites.

I can't decide if this is bad? I find it much better to see an item being worn so I can see fit and length but since it's not real that could be misleading and unlikely to get a refund on that basis.

As a seller it would make it much easier to get good looking pictures.

I took this screenshot of a cardigan at random and told AI to put it on a woman.

I always look at the background in vinted, it was mainly to assess whether the house appeared clean, there are a surprising number of people with dirty plates on the floor in the background or the cat lying on the pile of clothes they're going to list 😆

Then I started noticing that everyone had lovely boutique style bedrooms. And could be arsed to do their hair and put on shoes and a matching bag to sell a £4 tshirt. And were able to hold their phone in one hand exactly across their face and take a perfect photo.

I gave up selling on vinted, it's too time consuming but I like to browse and buy. Losing confidence in it now, so much AI and lots of stuff coming from US and Australia.

I opened a package this morning from a seller in France and a load of biscuit crumbs fell out with the dress! It seems to be fine, and I've already washed it.
I notice a new review has gone up from a buyer saying that she didn't know it was possible to send so much dog hair with one t-shirt so I suppose I was lucky.

Pics now... maybe

Thank you, I see these and assume it is from the catalogue/website. I know what you are referring to.

No, these are not from the retailer websites. One of the brands I know their website and they don't look like this, the other is a vintage item. They are AI generated by the eBay sellers.

I've reported quite a few and their profiles have been removed. It's completely misleading

Hate it

I've just heard that when you sell on vinted now there's a box to tick to say the images are AI generated.

Have you seen anything to tell the purchaser that?
