My crossbody camera-bag feels dated...but what do I replace it with?

I've got a leather crossbody camera bag with a wide canvas strap and I'm bored of it, feels like every other person has a variation on the same theme...but it's also really functional - right size, easy access, strap doesn't cut into shoulder, and works OK with most outfits (except v smart/dressy).

I'd like to replace it with something that feels a bit more current (or timeless!), but what? Ideally I want to tick the same boxes but change-up the style.

same, after being the queen of the crossbody for many a year I finally got a different style bag! I went with the leopard print baggu bowler.
It nearly went back as I was struggling to adjust from a crossbody, but it actually stays on the shoulder pretty well.

Its pretty casual though.

I think the crescent shaped shoulder bag is the new camera bag, I am seeing a lot in shops.

How about something like this:

You can choose your straps so they don’t need to be wide, and there are other shapes/designs.

I have this one in red and use it all the time. It goes with almost everything and it fits all my stuff, including a paperback!

It comes with a short and a long leather strap, I mostly use those either cross body or just tucked under the arm.

I also bought 2 chain link straps from there and swap to that for a different look on occasion.

I think the ubiquitous camera bag with thick strap is a bit dated now, but a couple of styles that offer the same practicality but more current shapes and also have a little handle as an option:

There are lots of brands doing similar eg The Horse, Flattered, etc,but I happened to be browsing Arket!

I like the style of the Arket bag with the magnetic flap but worry about security without a zip.

I have one of these and it’s so light and easy to use. Definitely on the more casual end of bags though so depends what you want it for. It does have a sort of effortless look (I think!), perfect for school run etc but less so for going out for dinner. I like the look of the leopard one 🤔

@oobedobe baggu also do smaller meringue bags which sit neatly under the arm - I'm going for one as I think it might be a more contemporary shape - still casual though

This is a late update, but I saw this bag and thought of this thread - like a squishy APC Demi, cheaper and looks considerably less dangerous for the hands!

They have it in 4 colours.
