Should I get Halara jeans instead of Levi’s?

I was all set to get done Levi’s from the new M&S range and then Halara popped up in my feed. They look like very flattering & easy. Remind me of maternity jeans with the elasticated panel thing, does anyone remember wearing them?

Shall I get these instead? Does anyone wear them? am 5’5 and curvy, size 10, short legs, fat arse, no waist so I dream of straight leg jeans but in reality they rarely suit me.

I have a pair of halara wide leg jeans and while I do like them they are not proper jeans, they are very thin and stretchy , they are comfy and look fine but don't replace my proper jeans

All my halara stuff has been the most comfy, still going strong even though I wash a lot and so flattering. Also unique styles

I keep seeing people on TikTok (paid to) rave about them. But they look monumentally unflattering to me.

Look at these for example. I think the drawn on ‘weathered’ detail just cheapens them further.

I love Halara jeans and trousers; they are extremely comfortable. However, as a PP said, the jeans are a thin material, much less bulky that proper denim. Downside is, the threads pull easily so if you have pets, they claws can quickly damage the fabric

I wear Halara jeans and love them. They do tend to be a bit on the longer side. I’m 5ft 7” and the regular is skimming the ground on me. But they are quite thin material so I’m probably going to wear something thicker in winter. Try Vinted. I got mine brand new from there. At least you don’t have to pay a fortune to find out if they’re for you. They are incredibly comfortable. I’m a 14-16 (more a 16 these days if I’m honest) and the large fits perfectly. They’re very stretchy.

Halara have a terrible returns policy. Hence why so many selling on vinted BNWT.

If Halara have a terrible returns policy, go for Levi, or even M and S own brand.

I just bought some Levi’s 501s and they are beautiful. Solid denim and really flattering. Nicest jeans I’ve bought in a while. I’m 5ft 1 and size 8/10.

I bought these from Halara and honestly I live in them - so comfy and flattering. But it’s not a real Jean material. I don’t care though

However the sizing can be off on other items and I’ve had to send them back.

I also bought a grey pair of pants that are loose fitting and have pockets - love them

Do you mind me asking which ones? Did you go for cropped or a shorter length? I’m same height and size and find jeans hard to get right.

I had a few halara bits for my holiday. I found the trousers (I didn't get jeans), the panel pushes down on my stomach and makes me feel ill. I've struggled with all trousers since dc2, I didn't have a c section but it's all just 'wrong' now. The trousers aren't too tight it's just how that panel sits.

The one thing about halara is that it's mostly polyester. I laugh at the ads talking about "breathable" trousers and tops from them. So on that basis I'd get proper jeans which are more likely to be made out of natural fabric.

Ahhhh mixed bag! Thank you for opinions and ideas. I think I might get the Levi’s from M&S and also a pair or two on Vinted, with the expectation that they will be made of thin fake jean material. They might be ok for these last few warmer months.

I have a pair of Halara. They’re leggings really, not jeans. They’re comfortable but in no way a substitute for denim and they don’t look great with tops tucked in. If you’re looking for proper jeans that will go with everything then get the Levi’s.

I have halara trousers (the waffle ones plus the ones which look like formal worn trousers), plus a pair of jeans (the wide leg ones on the pic above) and I love them.

So comfy, I am a convert to an elasticated waist 😆

I do agree the jeans are very light weight material, I like this though.

Halara is kust another Chinese fast fashion brand. Same shit as Shein etc. They are not at all comparable to Levi’s.

I have Halara wide legs and get lots of compliments on them. I like the not-as-thick-as-denim aspect of them for the in-between weather. They're coming into their own now the temperature's more manageable.

I really like the jeans from Halara but they all come quite wide in the leg, even the straight leg ones. But they are super comfy, not keen on the distressed ones though.

I recently used their return system for the first time and was surprised and impressed at how easy it was. I printed an evri label & took it to a pick up point on Friday and had the money in my account the next Thursday.

I wish the decent brands would
go with elasticated waists too. Easy to sneer at but horrid feeling waistline digging in constant reminder I am 52 not 22. Come on proper shops give the people what they want.

I live in Halaras but Rela Rela or Katch Me are closer to Levi’s and way more comfy and flattering

Uniqlo do a nice pair, look like jeans but fit like joggers.

I got the cropped. They are the perfect length on me. I have the boyfriend jeans from M&S which have turn ups on the bottom so I wanted just straight jeans, no turn up

Get the Levi’s. There’s a reason they’ve been around for something like 100 years.
