100%. Very knobbish to make that comment about 50s/60s, but that's just my personal opinion!

What sort of hair do you have? Makes all the difference. A blonde bob? An Afro? A pixie cut? A cascade of red curls?

Correct. Opinions are always important, when asked for. Which it wasn't, in this case. The OP merely asked for suggestions for a particular item, not if she was 'allowed' to wear it. Honestly, I'm not bothered by these kinds of posts. 😊 Style and Beauty is kind of known for it, there are some posters who feel the need to always put others down and are incapable of disagreeing in a polite, respectful manner. To be fair, despite that, most posters are lovely on here and happy to help.

Yes I’ve had some lovely replies and suggestions! Her comments didn’t exactly upset me - I was more shocked and angry that someone could be so unnecessarily rude! Anyway, I shall have a fabulous time wearing whatever I want on my head!

I think some of the headbands linked are better. Fascinators are never, ever good.

Not sure why people are suggesting hats. It’s a casual dress, a hat would be incongruous.

The dress is pretty, & a good mix of shades for autumn - are you committed it to it though, OP?

I am not a person who thinks that dressing formally for a wedding is necessary. But I have a few Pink City dresses & they're all very lightweight Indian block-print cotton dresses. I might wear them for a casual summer evening out, but to me they're more summer daywear?

So to me it's not headwear that's the issue - it's that you're attending what sounds like quite a formal "proper" wedding in a royal palace, & that your dress seems quite casual for that? I'm not a fascinator-type person, but can see that you want to follow that. I'm struggling though to imagine a fascinator looking good with that dress - as your headwear will say fancy wedding, & your dress won't?

Thank you for your comments. It just shows that we all have different opinions/taste! It’s not a dress I would wear for a casual summer evening out or even daywear! It is cotton but not lightweight as maybe your dresses are. I absolutely love it and think it will look stunning with the appropriate headgear and accessories- I don’t do traditional ‘formal’ - royal palace or not 😄.

Agreed. It’s a pretty dress, but it is quite casual for a fancy wedding.

The headgear needs to match the degree of formality of the dress. A boater type hat would suit the dress, but that is wrong for an autumn wedding.

You might get away with the dress with the right accessories - a dusky pink velvet headband, clutch (gold?) and nude suede pumps.

I could only go by your photo (& couldn't find any other images of it via Google) - & the Pink City dresses I have, which are very casual boho! But it sounds as if it is a dressier style than those, so I'm sure it will be lovely.

I certainly wouldn't do traditional or formal for a palace wedding either - my taste is probably a bit more quirky than that (for want of a better word, as quirky could mean many things!). So I wasn't suggesting that you be conventional for the sake of it!

The main thing is that you love it & are happy with it - but it may be a bit harder to find the right accessories to go well with it than a more typical satin or silk or velvet wedding guest dress? Many of the fascinator/hairband things that PP have suggested are, IMO, more suited to a different style of dress.

@Jungfraujoch - is this the same style from Pink City? They look like the same/very similar shape, though maybe the fabric weight is different. I still think it is more on the casual side. Is it maxi or midi-length?

It's a little hard to discern the colours properly. Are they: a rich warm chocolate; a mid-yellow & a slightly "dirty" mauve or mauve-pink?
