Anyone still using oil cleansing long term for dry sensitive skin?

Hello All

I was just wondering if anyone is still doing the oil cleansing method? I've been using coconut oil for cleansing and moisturising and it seems to be working well on my dry sensitive skin.

The oil cleansing method (OCM) threads on Mumsnet are a few years ago now. Has anyone has been doing this long term with no problems and what oil have you been using?

Yes, but I don't use natural oils as most of them are comedogenic. I use ones that are fragrance free and rather simple ingredients-wise, that works for me. And it's the best way to remove every ounce of makeup from my face before I cleanse properly with a cleanser.

Op just a recommendation for cetaphil gentle skin cleanser but it’s a face wash. It has changed my world in terms of dryness and comfort!

Thanks @Morepositivemum I've not tried cetaphil, I definitely need skin comfort, lots of products are stinging at the moment!

Thanks @trainedopossum do you use the olive oil as a moisturizer as well as a cleanser?

No, I remove it with a hot flannel, sometimes twice if I’m wearing makeup (brilliant for removing mascara). Then I apply any treatment if I’m using one, then some kind of bland moisturiser, then sometimes a dab of Vaseline or Neal’s Yard balm on top.
I also find the Ordinary squalane cleanser very gentle.
