What brands do you immediately think of if I say 'good quality footwear'?

What footwear brands do you think offer the best quality and longevity, even if they might be a little pricier in terms of initial outlay?

Thinking in particular of styles like Mary Janes, ballet flats, loafers, and / or boots. But I'm interested in any thoughts people have on brands whose footwear is 'made to last' (or that is likely to at least last a few seasons / shouldn't need to be replaced every five minutes!).

All comfortable, well made shoes. I have a lot of Chie Mihara in particular, and perfectly happy to get them on eBay etc, some excellent bargains to be had for quality shoes.

Assumed I would like Penelope Chilvers but don’t actually find them that comfortable tbh.

Ara (German brand) shoes are available on Zalando.

They’re my Summer sandals for work and soft Chelsea boots for Autumn-Winter.

Until recently I would have said Clark’s but the trainers I bought there recently are shockingly poor quality.

Clarks and Ecco were favorites here. Not anymore.
Havent found good replacements.

Clark’s. I’m a nurse and only buy their shoes for work due to comfort and durability. I also buy my boots from there for the same reason. I’m considering trying their trainers for a cruise that’s coming up, as I usually buy gym trainers but they have lots of ‘netting’ on them.

Dh has the same. Both sons and their partners also buy them. Really comfortable and look great. Mine have lasted ages bren through the mill and look great!

My Embassy London lace ups will be going into their 5th winter this year.

Solomon’s - I wore a pair travelling for a year and they look great after tramping all over the world salt, sand, rain, up mountains, beaches. Then another year after that wearing them all winter. They’re still in great knick.

I love Gabor and Reiker for shoes and sandals. My first choice for boots are Clarks.

Another Lanx fan here. Beautifully made boots.

Church’s is not worth the money imho.

For smart shoes not really for clumpy boots.

Brora - they don’t do a wide range but all my footwear purchases from sandals to winter boots have been long lasting and well made
