Where to find extra long black boys' school trousers this year?

Not really style and beauty, but has anyone had any luck finding extra long (34”) black boys school trousers this year please? I usually buy the John Lewis ones but they don’t seem to be doing extra long this year, and the M&S ones are all skinny fit - which makes my very thin 16 year old look even twiggier! Any ideas appreciated as otherwise he’ll be going into 6th form in his old school uniform 😩

M&S do pleat front regular trousers in a 34" leg from age 14

Sorry - now see that they no longer do those! Last 34" leg ones I got were from Tesco, but hard to get hold of! Other than that trutex do them in longer lengths - might need to try independent uniform shops if you want to try on.

I’ve just been to M&S to get ds 2 pairs of 32x34 trousers - result was there was ONE pair of 32x33 in a regular fit which will have to make do until I can find something else!

Ah thanks, but no - not long enough! The longest is a 33 inch and that’s for the age 17-18 which would be too big on the waist 😩

I ended up buying from the men’s department in M&S because the longer boys ones were never in stock, but they are much more expensive

I bought men's trousers from Asda, I think they were about £18 a pair which I thought was a great price. I was slightly concerned that the quality wouldn't be that great but they've lasted since Easter to the end of term and look fine. DS is 14 and still at the stage of occasionally sliding down the park on his knees as well!

Just to add DS had grown out of the M&S age 17-18 ones. I'd tightened the adjustable waist as tight as it would go (luckily he doesn't care how he looks) but they were flapping around his ankles!

It’s a nightmare this year for some reason! 32” waist will be too big for him which rules out the Next men’s trousers. John Lewis has been my go-to his entire school life so it’s really annoying they’ve stopped doing them!

Yeah I had to bite the bullet and just buy from the adult range in the school uniform shop this year as even the m&s 17-18 extra long school trousers with the hem you take down was still too short for my 16 year old 6ft 2 beanpole by the middle of last year.

It’s the shoes that I find the killer. Sorted for this year but it’s hard to find a size 12 that’s not a formal dress shoe.

Next - it's the only place I can find trousers long enough!

Ooh thank you. The best combination I can see is 30x34. May well be too big at the waist but the smaller waist sizes have shorter legs! Will give them a go anyway 🤞. Have also been looking at 2tall.com for the men’s trousers but again the waists don’t go down small enough.

Oh thank you! Do you know if the waists are adjustable? The smallest waist is 30” for a 34” leg and that’ll be too big if not adjustable. Although as I’m typing that it’s occurred to me that he could wear a belt (although that won’t avoid the whole looking like he’s wearing a nappy due to extra fabric!)

I’ve bought him men’s trousers since last year, he’s been in men’s clothes for a while generally but the downside is definitely that they are far more expensive than the 2 pairs for £20 or whatever you can buy in the actual school uniform section. It’s an absolute bugger, he’s 6ft tall at 14 - the shoe situation last year was just a disaster, he’d gone through 3 pairs by Easter and for the summer term I just sent him in wearing a pair of black trainers that he already owned 🥴

Yes they are adjustable. Go to one of the shops or give them a ring, always found them very helpful.
I think they possibly offer a custom fit service, so can give measurements and they will make trousers to a particular length. Haven't used this yet for 6'4 child as 34" has been long enough this year, but good to know its there if/when needed.
I know Next do longer length black trousers (although they assume you get proportionally wider as you get taller so not all waist/length sizes available), but i found the stevensons ones were better quality imo.

I've found my tribe - just ordered M&S waist 30, length extra long(!!) for my just over 6ft tall 15year old, last summer I got him M&S waist 30, long length and he's grown (height wise) out of those - hopefully just about at his adult height now! (worn with a belt)

Ah thanks everyone for all the suggestions. Some good options there that I hadn’t come across before- hopefully I’ll find something. For those looking at the M&S ones, just a warning that the legs are a very slim fit- I’d ordered them in the extra long and they do fit, but they make his legs look like two pipe cleaners! He needs a bit of width to bulk him out a bit 🤣
