Looking for dark navy dress for funeral

I need a dress for my Mum's funeral later this month. She said she wants people to wear what they are comfortable in but Dad will extract traditional formality, however I don't wear black as it doesn't suit me so I'm thinking something dark navy.

I'm 52, size 14 with menopausal tummy bloat and Dcup boobs.

I like slash/boat necks and short sleeves.

I've been looking but I can't find anything I like that I might then wear again.

It's probably the wrong time of year for dark dresses but can anyone help?

I’m so sorry for your loss. My mother has just passed away this week too and I have ordered a pretty navy shirt dress from Vinted. She was a big charity shopper herself and I know she wouldn’t have wanted me spending lots of money on a dress I might not feel comfortable wearing again. The dress feels respectable but also comfortable if it’s warm.

So sorry about your mum, OP.

I’m a size 12-14 and bought this lovely navy dress from Cos. It’s very flattering on and quality fabric. It drapes well.

Cos Boat-neck Gathered Midi Dress

Hope you find something you like.

I wore a smart navy shift dress to my brother's funeral with a darkish grey blazer in linen over. He was quite young, so it felt right to not go full dramatic dark. I also wanted to wear a very sculptural gold piece of jewellery he bought for me, so the dress needed the right neckline.

Sorry for your loss OP, I hope you find something you feel confident in.

Next have one or two things that might suit

I'm sorry for your loss - I wore a navy shirt waister to my fathers funeral on one of the hottest days of the year in June so I think it is important to get something that isn't too heavy.

Would this work? https://www.marksandspencer.com/cotton-rich-knee-length-wrap-dress/p/clp61224039#intid=pid_pg1pip48g4r2c3

or this - the tiered skirt is perhaps a bit less formal but should be cool? https://www.marksandspencer.com/navagio-pure-cotton-midi-shirt-dress/p/clp23070958?color=NAVY#intid=pid_pg1pip48g4r5c2%7Cprodflag_plp_ts_QP_36

Sorry about your mum @Malinia

That 3rd dress is indeed gorgeous, apologies if that sounds uncoth as I know we are talking about funeral attire here.

I would say from experience that I never wanted to see (let alone) wear what I wore to my mum's funeral ever again so it may be worth considering a second hand piece?

There’s a nice one on eBay by Finery. I was looking but it’s not my size.

i think it’s new without tags..
