Perfect summer hol dress

Travelling with small hand luggage only so can only take one dress! I’m after something for evenings on a Greek island. Either below or above knee. Possibly black a good choice. Need to wear a bra!
Does this perfect dress exist?

I've sent for a large as I'm 5ft 8in and a stone heavier than you.

I bought this but found it a tad too voluminous! I'm about 5ft7 and it felt a bit long, which made it feel like there was too much fabric for me. I do have their black cheesecloth maxi sundress from this summer though, which I love! It voluminous too, but light enough that it feels airy. They also did it in brown and cream, possible orange. I did notice that it doesn't roll up that small - presumably because of the texture to cheesecloth, it's essentially a lot of tiny rectangles of extra fabric!

I think black is a BAD option for southern Europe in the summer.

I love black in the summer, wear it all the time in the South of France

Silly idea if you want to keep cool. I don't know when OP is going to Greece, but if in August, it could be 40C!

It's not necessarily a bad thing to wear black in high temperatures - it can even be cooler in some circumstances.

Obviously the fabric plays a part - but so does the shape of your clothing. Something tight - as black absorbs the sun's rays - will make you feel hotter. But if you're wearing a very loose, lightweight cotton or linen dress, for instance, the absorbed rays heat the air between dress and body. And the warm air then rises and escapes via the neckline/armholes, drawing in air from below to form a cooling current. It's called the chimney effect.

Your activities & where you spend your time also matter. If you're sitting or being active outside in the sun a lot, wearing white is better. But if you're seeking out shade or even staying indoors, then black will radiate the heat that's produced by your body away from the skin.
