I’m trying to find my sense of style. I really love this outfit but I’m after some opinions on it that aren’t my mum telling me I look lovely no matter what!

Excuse the screenshot - it’s the only way I could get it uploaded!

Pastel green, from the looks of it, and white go too well. And the dress design itself is looking great on you. Simply Awesome!

I don't think it's very flattering. A fitted top always looks best with baggy trousers.

I’m not a huge fan of fitted tops because I feel like they emphasise my least favourite bits of myself

I would wear a fitted top with those trousers and save the top to wear with some more fitted trousers.

Not your mum, but I think it’s lovely - cool, flattering, comfortable and stylish.

I’m surprised at so many saying trousers are too baggy or should be worn with fitted top as it looks to me like they fit well over hips and upper thighs and are only loose/baggy at the bottom.
Wear with confidence, you look great!

They’re probably a touch too big around the waist - I went for an 18 but think i could’ve fit a 16! But they are definitely a wide leg trouser, as they’re meant to be

I’d go less baggy top, or less baggy trousers. Both pieces are nice but would look better separately. Just my view. In this heat, who TF cares, go with what’s comfy, lol.

Thanks everyone.

Im in that stage of weight loss where I’m not used to my body, I can see what looks okay on other people but not on myself!

I think they both work as separates but not together. Each needs to be paired with something just a little more tailored

Yes I think the top would work with a pair of straight trousers or jeans in cream or off white, and the trousers would look better with a more fitted and shorter top.

its not a bad outfit, I just wouldn’t say it was great and I’d not look twice if I sa you in it,

I don’t really own anything straight legged! Everything I own is baggy - I’m quite insecure about my lower belly so hate trousers that cling

I’m not sure they work together. Separate, yes, together they’re not doing anything for your shape. Maybe try the trousers with a tucked in shirt, a belt and a necklace? And the top with white trousers that are a bit more fitted? I’m not an expert, but I’m at that stage in my life where I think about styling a bit more, because my own shape has changed and what suited me before now looks like I’m wearing a Tesco bag.

ineedaheronow · 17/07/2026 08:57

I’m wearing the trousers again today and they definitely need turning up.
