Natural red hair losing colour and becoming frizzy with age - how to get shine, softness and colour back?

Hair advice needed please!

I have natural red hair, fairly straight and thick but prone to frizzing. Over the last ten years or so the colour has faded to a brown-blonde that just looks a bit grubby. The texture also has changed, somehow both wiry/stiff and frizzy/fluffy.

I want it to be soft, shiny and bright again!

Questions - is the colour and texture change just part of ageing? I've never had a grey hair but wonder if this is similar.

Would a keratin treatment help with the texture and shine? Or any other recommendations?

Or should I get it coloured or highlighted so at least it's got some colour to it?

Thanks in advance!

I use colour depositing shampoo, it works nicely!

My dry hair turns out to be perimenopause and my hair going curly after being bone straight my entire life.... Would recommend you let it air dry one day to see if it's the same for you!

I use MoroccanOil to smooth it out on the (many) days I can't face the curly routine.

I have curly hair so mine has always been frizz prone so can't help there, but I second colour depositing shampoo I use infuse my colour, just the shampoo at I found the colour from the conditioner too strong.

Asiam Coconut Cowash is fantastic for restoring condition. It's the only gem I got from curly girl advice I've consistently stuck to for well over a decade! Any time I've used a different shampoo I've lamented.

Do get it in Superdrug - not Amazon where fake product proliferates.

If I need extra condition between washes I wet just the tips of my fingers in coconut oil and gently finger comb that through - also superb for making any knots drop out.

Please can I ask which colour depositing shampoo you use? I’ve been wondering about trying this , thanks
