everyone ignore Fio .

IllegallyBrunette · 25/06/2008 17:21

Oh good, expat has saved me the bother of posting an alternative option.

We can't all afford Boden and Monsoon you know.

SNoraWotzThat · 25/06/2008 17:25

I'm rich? Because I have an opinion on not to buy form Primark, that makes me a Boden Monsoon customer? How odd!

Never mind about the sweat shops eh. So long as it keeps you in disposable togs...

expatinscotland · 25/06/2008 17:29

'So long as it keeps you in disposable togs... '

Why assume everyone who shops in these places throws clothes away? That's rather presumptuous.

IllegallyBrunette · 25/06/2008 17:39

God I am so sick of having this discussion on here.

Look, if you are on a budget then you shop where you can afford too. I shop in charity shops, ebay, Asda and yep Primark.

No one is saying that they like the fact that the clothes are made in sweat shops, but some people don't have a choice about where they go for their clothes, end of story.

IllegallyBrunette · 25/06/2008 17:40

No throwing away here expat, it all gets passed around to anyone that can use it.

expatinscotland · 25/06/2008 17:41

I have gotten some hand-me-down stuff from Primark.

Gratefully received and used.

Gifts, donations of 2nd hand stuff, the odd Primark or Tesco, whatever.

It works for us.

SNoraWotzThat · 25/06/2008 17:54

It's their own USP - disposable fashion for 35 year olds on the shelf for 4 to 6 weeks max.

Sorry you are sick of the discussion IllegallyBrunette. But don't assume those who object to Primark can afford to shop elsewhere. Of course what people can afford will influence where they shop.

Thanks for pointing out that Primark sits with fruitshoots and other topics not to be mentioned on MN.

I will go away and rant at RL folk instead.

'It's their own USP - disposable fashion for 35 year olds on the shelf for 4 to 6 weeks max.'

That doesn't mean that is what even the majority of people who buy stuff in there do, however.

I'm probably solidly middle class and I love Primark.

expatinscotland · 25/06/2008 17:58
