Sports bras

DD2 has autism. She wears sports bras instead of normal bras because of her sensory needs. Specifically the old style of Nike sports bras. She needs some new ones. Nike changed their style a while ago and the band is not as soft now. DD2 has tried dozens of makes and styles over the last few months but none are right. This is the type she wears on Vinted but DD2 isn’t keen on wearing a second hand sports bra. If anyone has any suggestions for ones with a soft band, they would be very gratefully received.

I like Sweaty Betty bras for day to day wear. They do "power" bras which are more supportive and yoga bras which are softer.

Given her age I would also recommend looking at some athleisure brands like Gymshark and Adanola. Gymshark in particular have a range of reasonable quality affordable stuff.

Oh sorry, I see you didn't put her age, for some reason I thought you said she was a teen!

Thank you for replying. DD2 is in her 20s, but she isn’t fussed about what brand. We haven’t looked at Swetty Betty. Will do that.

She has tried several Gymshark sports bras. None were right. The ones with a thicker band weren’t soft enough. Some are ruched too which she can’t tolerate. Some of them that don’t have a thick band didn’t have a big enough cup area (IYKWIM since not all of them have defined cups) and stepping up size meant the band was too big. She didn’t like the material of the Adanola ones she tried.

I like the swetty Betty ones and Lulu lemon they are v comfy. You could try bravissimo? They do sports bras with a defined cup size or M&S have launched a new range called body invisible which is really comfy.

I just bought a Free People ‘win win’ sports bra, and the band was very similar to how I recall my old Nike one being. I have Gymshark ones too, I understand what she means about the difference.

@frockandcrocs thank you. I have just ordered one to try.

@Helpisneeded100 thanks. I have ordered a few Swetty Betty ones. M&S is a no. She has tried lots of their bras/sports bra, including the body invisibles range after they were suggested when I asked this question on a long running SN thread elsewhere on MN. For a few reasons Lululemon sports bras don’t work for DD - e.g. some the bands/band area aren’t soft enough, some have back fastenings, etc.

These are super soft, the brand is closing down but they are selling what they have left at half price so she could stock pile. I have 2 of their crop tops.

The one I have isn’t the same style as your DD’s but I have a very soft sports bra from Abercrombie and Fitch’s sportswear range.

Maybe Oysho? https://www.oysho.com/gb/sale/sports-bras-n4891
