If you were just starting out embracing your curly / wavy hair

What would you do?

I spent 30 minutes dragging my thick hair into submission with a hot brush and it's bushy and shit again already

What are your top tips? What do i need to buy? Help please!

I have wavy hair too, as I mentioned earlier on the thread, and definitely a lot of curl-specific stuff is too heavy for my hair, managing to make my hair both greasy and frizzy at the same time.

Unfortunately a lot of experimenting needed, but it's worth it once it works!

I do use Head and Shoulders on mine about every second/third wash, so you might still be able to use it some of the time. Just need plenty of conditioner after it.

How long is your hair? Mine's got a lot curlier since I went from long to a bob - the weight of the hair can pull the curl out. Layers can also encourage a curl.

Mine is wavy but can be made to curl, but mainly in the lengths not the crown. I agree that a lot of curly products can weigh it down too much. Definitely more so the shorter I go, it's shoulder length at the moment and curls much better than when I had it bra-strap length a couple of years ago.

Admittedly I need a cut (booked in tomorrow) but I'm so disappointed! Will try again!

So I need to use head and shoulders too op. I use it every wash ( always just the shampoo, not the 2 in 1). Then I use whatever leaves in/ rinse out conditioner is not too expensive. I put it on in the shower and only partly rinse it out, just enough to feel like it is evenly spread and I comb it through at this stage too. Once out of the shower and before I wrap it in a towel, I put a bit of hair oil on the top layers as these are very frizzy/ dry/ sun bleached at present. The. I wrap it all in a towel for a bit and leave to air dry. I think my hair is curlier than yours though.
