I so need it if you have

have GHDs
Have frizz ease (the dark blue v powerful one)
neither work when I am in a very humid place

I need to go to a wedding in humidity hell this summer - what can I use???

as I have hair that frizzes at the merest hint of moisture in the air I'd be interested to know too

mistlethrush · 25/06/2008 10:21

The two things I use are Paul Mitchel super sculpt and 'Ego Boost' by Bed Head - gives a really nice shine, but doesn't refresh for next day like Super Sculpt- its in a bright pink bottle

katw3kitts · 25/06/2008 10:22

Sod it .... and just go curly for the day !

I can't!
My hair isnt curly
It is mainly grey (but I dye it) and so it is very porous and quite coarse - a nightmare for humidity

Hmmm... I know the feeling.

I use a Tigi wax shine thing that sort of helps with mine. Not sure if its any better than the other suggestions though.

Ha! my curly hair, if allowed, ends up frizzing as well and I end up looking like Cristal Tips... You think you have a problem!

CountessDracula · 25/06/2008 10:39

So I doubt your product would work for my coarse hair

lol at Crystal Tips

I use Charles Worthington Results shine silkening serum, which turns my hair from fluff into, er, hair.

mistlethrush · 25/06/2008 10:46

But does it go outwards (completely) rather than down? I can't brush mine, and I slather it with heavy products, and I don't blow dry it - otherwise it litterally will go out horizontally. I think that I could do a passable immitation of an afro if push came to shove. Normally try to tame into curls. Can go quite ringlety just after washing...

mistlethrush · 25/06/2008 10:46

PS mine very coarse. Some bits more like horsehair in terms of feel and thickness.

stitch · 25/06/2008 11:22

a razor blade?

CountessDracula · 25/06/2008 11:24

Think will have to have put up for the wedding
or take ghds to venue

OP posts:
mistlethrush · 25/06/2008 11:33

I used to put mine up quite a bit - although, now, my bob is shorter so its a bit more difficult. Can still leave plait at bottom of french plait with no tie though - won't come undone. There are some things to be said for coase, curly hair!

sykes · 25/06/2008 11:37

My hair is horribly porous, coarse and frizzy. It only really looks decent if a hairdresser goes to town on it - can you do that? It tends to last a few days and I use GHDs to tame it in addition. Kerastace products are good and there's an intensive anti-frizz conditioner that SEEMS to work. It's about £25 but is the best I've found so far. If you want the product name I'll go and find it.

Oliveoil · 25/06/2008 11:38

aussie 3 min miracle conditioner

from boots, about a fiver

leave on for 3 min (hence name), lovely defined curls, for me

for you, it would mean no frizz

I use it about 3 times a week

mistlethrush · 25/06/2008 11:41

Even my hairdresser has admitted that he can't help with mine. When I started with him he used all the traditional techniques and 'talk' - heavy conditioners etc. He did help hugely with problem I used to have with split ends (can't remember the last time I had one of those). However, he has now learned that, when he puts 'product' on at the end of a cut, he has to use two handfulls, not just the tiny amount he usually uses on people. He has also bought a special comb with my hair in mind, and has accepted that the hair at the nape of my neck refuses to be cut during the normal process and that I need to pull down the long bits that were hiding so that he can cut them off at the end (very unprofessional!)

mistlethrush · 25/06/2008 11:42

OO - I use that and it is fantastic - but I use superscult on top, and sometimes Ego boost on top of that.... I also quite like their spray in, leave in conditioner, which I put on after I've used 3 min miracle.
