Musty smell- Longchamp Le Pliage

It was late DMs and must have been folded up when damp, for years.

I’ve washed it and it’s come up lovely and clean, but still smells a bit musty. Has been on the washing line since last night and this morning after a quick google, I added some baking powder - smell has reduced slightly but it’s still noticeable.

I’d like to use it on holiday (flying out Wednesday) but atm am worried about wafting the smell about, every time I reach into the bag

Even if I end up not taking the bag, I’d still like it not to smell, so all advice appreciated

Aware maybe should be in housekeeping and not Style and Beauty

Keep at it with the baking powder but more and longer to give it chance to absorb any damp making the smell. Fill a sock with it, place in the bag, zip it up for a couple of days.

My longchamps have been through the washing machine countless times. DD18

Shove it in with some of that dettol laundry cleanser.

Sorry posted too soon.

DD18 now uses mine and they are 18yrs old, birthday present when I was pregnant with DD.

They are in great condition despite the washing.

Seconding Dettol laundry cleanser. Maybe in a sink of very very hot water.
