I buy jeans that fit great in the shop, I recently bought straight leg jeans and shorter wide leg jeans. From crew clothing, so decent quality, £59 each.
They fitted great in the shop, but now that I've worn each pair at least a couple of times they are too loose and baggy for me,!

What's gone wrong?
Im the same size as well.

Are they stretch jeans.

You need jeans that are 100% cotton. They’ll be stiffer than you are used to and you might need to go up a size. And probably more £. Next have some.

Levi's.

The description on the website tells you if there is any stretch in them. Many have none at all and don't go baggy.

I think the ones I have from crew clothing are 3% elastane. Is thar what makes them go baggy?
Bloody hell.

Actually its just 2% elastane, surely that doesn't make them Stretch jeans?

Rigid (100% cotton) jeans Will absolutely give as you wear them, and then when you wash them, they will shrink back up again

That’s why they’re so comfortable that you’ve worn them a few times

You have to buy rigid jeans tighter than you would typically expect because they do stretch out as you wear them

I'm afraid it does. You want jeans 100% cotton no elastane

you need to spend more on jeans sorry. try agolde citizen of humanity i have some of their jeans for 10 years now. tye agolde ren version in dark navy are great for work
jeans have to be 100 per cent cotton.
I use vouchers to buy mine aswell as save up. Once you find the name of what you love and size you will pick up on vinted and second hand resellers too for less
paige is another brand
I live in jeans and refuse to buy any other brands now

I thought £59 was expensive

As pp mentioned, Levi's have a 'how to shop for jeans' section on their website and they recommend buying a size down and always buying 100% cotton.

Anything with elastane will continue to stretch and never in a flattering way.

Summerhillsquare · 07/06/2026 22:27

You don't need to spend more necessarily, but definitely 100% cotton. Zara jeans are soft but retain shape for example. Also Uniqlo. And there's always loads on vinted.

FusionChefGeoff · 08/06/2026 00:05

Also if they fit in the shop, they won’t fit in real life. First wear jeans are always too tight! That’s why you end up doing that squat / kick thing to stretch ‘em out once they’re on

SomewhereInMyHeart · 08/06/2026 01:23

i use a spray water bottle on them between wears and hang them over the bannister.

you need to think of cost per wear. you wear jeans once a week and the cost 100e thats under 2 euros per week. stretch it to the second year you have it 1e a week spend 59e and get baggy second wash then they sit in your wardrobe money wasted.
sales are starting now go into a department store and try some one
zara marks etc just don't cut it if you were them all the time get the quality ones
