Right, I had the nails done again on Monday, and I asked my nail tech about this.
(you probably know this already, I didn’t so apologies if the case)
BIAB do make a soluble version; one that can be removed with acetone/remover, but the one you clearly have isn’t soluble and needs to be filed off.
there is NO reason why you’re being damaged every time, yes brand new files are sharp but they can be properly prepared to take the bite out of them.
, I’ve been caught once or twice by an edge here and there. Feet mostly, my toes are meatier than my fingers.
now.. as I said, I have shellac, this is soluble so comes off with a bit of light filing, then soaking in acetone. I also had a strengthening layer added the week I participated in Tough Mudder, and they held up beautifully.
is there a particular reason you’re using BIAB? Could you not switch to shellac? Or at least find someone that uses soluble BIAB?
in any event, your nail tech isn’t competent with a file - manual or electric - you do need to find someone else. The change will be stark, what’s happening to you literally shouldn’t ever happen, and definitely not routinely.
