Fonthill Road prices?

Considering taking my daughter here to shop for a prom dress, but I’m worried everything will be out of our price range. Ideally I’d like to spend £80-100 but could possibly stretch towards £200. This field trip will be for naught if everything is actually much higher in price range.

Any advice is appreciated.

We have been looking at Vinted, and online high street retailers…. just not having any luck.

Charity shops seem like a needle haystack scenario as it not only needs to be a prom dress in a style and colour she’s open to but also magically be the right size …

Where is Fonthill? Do you mean that road in Finsbury Park?

Do the shops have websites so you could check the prices before going?
And try some of the other 2nd hand sites - eBay, Depop.

No they do not have prices - very frustratingly - only 1 did. That one is too expensive … reviews of other shops say things like “reasonable prices” and “-affordable” but example prices of these persons idea of what is reasonable or affordable are not given

I have walked around there and I wouldn't travel to shop. There are a lot of shops but to me they all look really naff. No idea about price though sorry.

My daughter got a lovely dress last year from meshki.co.uk/collections/party-dresses

They are pretty chintzy in Fonthill Rd op.

I took my daughter last year. A handful of shops, most of which look like market stalls, but have all the dresses you could imagine and really helpful sales assistants with no pressure to buy. She found the dress of her dreams, more than I wanted to pay but it was just perfect and I couldn’t say no.
Most of the dresses we were looking at were top end of your budget around £180 and a lot double that (and more).
I’d say if you decide to go, make sure she’s got realistic expectations of the budget and don’t get carried away (like we did!)
