This is Unfolded - returns

There are a couple of things from This is Unfolded I am considering, but their returns process puts me off. Trying to swap sizes with someone feels like a right faff. I have a long torso and long “rise” and seem to curve in non-standard places for my height. I usually order 2 sizes when I am shopping online. Even with all the garment measurements in the world, I can never be sure that something fits until I try it on.

Has anyone tried the swapping thing?

You can just return it . I think it goes somewhere in the uk but I can’t recall the details . I think the idea is you can try and swap first but also the choice to return. I returned an item and no issues but it was a bit slow

Im not even going there. My life is much too busy for this kind of nonsense.
Occasionally I have things made for me by a local seamstress and this process involves going in for a fitting. There is no fitting with unfolded or trying on of two sizes so I dont see how it can really work unless you have a bog standard body.

I bought one and it didn't suit. I just returned it but you do need to pay for postage. Could not be bothered with swapping. I wouldn't order again because its nearly 6 weeks for delivery, and in the end wasn't nice on me. Good quality though.

Atleastthedoglikesme · Today 10:36

I bought a dress from them. I knew it would be 6 weeks but actually it took 2.5 months to arrive. It didn't fit and returning it was a pain, I was directed to the swap place but I didn't want to, then I had to get their consent to return it and pay postage.

I won't buy from them again.

I've neither bought nor swapped and won't be doing either. None of us have standard bodies - it doesn't matter how accurate the measurements are if, for example, the waist is in the wrong place. We need to try on before we know for certain if the fit is right and it's entirely reasonable to expect to do so.

I think any issues that arise from this are for online retailers to resolve and I don't think it's acceptable to try and fob responsibility off on to customers who have bought in good faith.

Groobey · Today 14:06

Yes I really like some of their dresses but I have no intention to buy anything because of the long delivery time and difficulties returning.

I know the whole point is they are meant to be more sustainable, but as PP said, whilst we can choose a certain size, our shapes are all different and I don’t want to be stuck dealing with a dress that doesn’t work on me.

I wouldn’t buy on principle. Legally you can return items and I think retailers should leave it at that.

I don’t buy from a particular (high end) company because their parcels come with a slip that says ‘please donate/sell on unsuitable items rather than returning them to us, thank you!’

I’m not paying £150 for a jumper and then donating it because the shop don’t want returns. This swap thing would be the same to me.
