Shoes for London in June - non slippery

Can anyone recommend decent shoes for

Wide fitting
Size 7
Must not slip
Work trip (jeans acceptable)
Will be walking to and from the venue

Trainers are okay but last time I could barely manage to walk outside the natural history museum it was so slippy! Not that we are going near there but I just want something that won't slip.

Thank you

For guaranteed non-slippiness take your shoes to a cobbler (eg Tiimpsons) and get rubber soles put on.

That is absolutely genius! Thank you so much. I can just get that done to my normal trainers?

Ah … Oh dear, I’m not at all certain trainers can be re-soled. Someone else will know.

I have rubber added to leather soled shoes when they’re new, and also have soles replaced when they’re getting thin.

I’ve no idea why you found it so slippery! Was it wet?
what do you normally wear to walk around in?

They are not the height of fashion but I love Hotter footware for exactly this reason - they grip like glue on slippery surfaces. And even their standard fitting is quite wide plus they have wider fittings.

I have some new Nikes that are a bit slippy am assuming they will scuff up in time.

I think one thing you can do is to score the sole with a knife so that they’re not as smooth.

Saltwater boardwalk sandals are good for wide feet because they have a buckle. Designed for wearing in and out of water so non slippy. Really comfortable footbed. Only downside is no arch support.

Thanks all!

Not everywhere, but it took me twice as long to walk into the natural history museum as everyone else as I was about to fall on my arse ;( It was absolutely pouring with rain and the trainers I had on had absolutely zero grip on them. I have a fair bit of walking to do with colleagues and just want to make sure am not wearing slippy shoes.

It happens where I live too occasionally depending on the pavement surface if I wear those shoes and it is raining.
