Advice please… I’m 45 and am showing most of the signs of Perimenopause. Any ideas please for a confidence boost. My hair feels thin, my skin has some hyperpigmentation on my face and and I just can’t seem to shift my mid spare tyre 😲 Please don't judge me because it’s also affecting me mentally as well as family issues but for the moment I just want a little boost beauty wise.

Strength training? I know many women who started to do this in their early 40s and it makes a huge difference. Many of them actually look better than they did when they were younger as they’re leaner and have better posture now.

Up your protein and water. It makes a huge difference to skin and nails. You don’t need collagen - the evidence is patchy.
I have heard good things about the new Pantene product for hair loss. I can’t remember the name.
Trip to beauty counter ? If you wear foundation.
What helps me is listening to some upbeat music, having a dance around my kitchen and going for a walk in nature.

Where are you getting testosterone from? My doctor refuses to give it.

Skin, a vitamin C serum in the morning, a retinol at night, a moisturizer with niacinamide, and sunscreen every day.

Body work out daily. This is a really good time to start lifting. Eat a balanced healthy diet and get plenty of protein and fiber and fruits and veg.

For the hair, look for conditioners or leaveins with biotin and caffeine. There's topical Minoxidil, but be careful with that, it's toxic to pets. If you get it, check the men's, there's a pink tax for the women's versions where I am. Try scalp massage. I use a shampoo brush thing, it may not do anything but it sure feels nice.

I’m 55 and managed to lose weight during the menopause. I lost loads by stopping intermittent fasting - I read and listened to the information available . Intermittent fasting doesn’t suit me anymore. I do watch my calories and drink occasionally and avoid sugar- I do Pilates four times a week an walk as much as a I can and drink loads of water. I’m 3 stone lighter than I was three years ago.

If your GP is sympathetic then typically you are supposed to cite low libido making your husband sad. I just buy mine from Newsom- annual blood test to check dosage level . Rx is not too expensive
