Is this rosacea- what helps?

Hi mid 30s. Since dd was born 4 years ago, my skin has been a nightmare. I keep getting redness on my cheeks like this. I used azaelic acid for a while, but seems less effective now. I use Erborian anti redness cc which covers it up for a bit. I also use a balm cleanser and byoma moisturiser. It's really getting me down. I am going to ask my GP but has anyone got any recommendations please?

I did six weeks of really really healthy eating and lifestyle and it made a massive difference. I attended to my gut health cut down on sugar and dairy and wheat. It loads of really good healthy food foods. Took probiotics. I found it easier to do this when I knew it was only for a period of time. I didn’t drink and I only had decaf coffee but I did drink weak tea.

I switched over to Clinique anti-redness solution – expensive but it was the only moisturiser that I could be putting on my face. I also used the anti-redness clinic face wash.

At the end of the six weeks it was like my system had had a reset. Skin was soooo much better.

I made an effort to attend to all areas of my life and that included dealing with work stress.

Rosacea is a systemic thing and therefore I think you have to address it as a whole system issue rather than just what you put on your skin.

good luck, I know it can be really miserable x

It looks similar to perioral/ocular dermatitis which responds well to rosex cream which is mainly prescribed for rosacea. It might be worth a try. I get mine from an online pharmacy

@AlwaysAFaithfulthank you. That's so interesting. I am glad you have found things to help. I was vegan before my daughter, I now eat dairy (not a lot) so I wonder if that has caused my skin to flare. Will definitely look at my diet and that Clinique cream

Thank you. I definitely have the look of perioral dermatitis around my mouth (I also have dermatitis on my hands). Will bear that cream in mind. Thank you x

Seems like rosacea. Better if you get in touch with a good derm. I had that and got it sorted and now maintain a routine:
Morning:
Using water to wash your face,
Sebamed clear face gel,
Garnier spf
Cicaplast
Evening:
LRP moisturizer,
Tretinoin (0.1) from skinorac
Sebamed clear facial gel

Appt with your GP initially and then take it from there.

I gave up dairy and all animal/saturated fats in a quest to lower my cholesterol and I’ve noticed that my skin is much better than it used to be.

I saw a dermatologist for rosacea and he recommended soolantra and azelaic acid at 15%. I used one in the morning and one at night. It took a while but it completely cleared my skin. I can’t remember if you mentioned sunscreen but it’s important you use that too.

Cetaphil gentle cleanser;soolantra ;skin and me prescription metrodanizole axelaic acid with niacinamide ; and la Roche posay SPF 30 green tinted moisturiser. I’m a lifelong sufferer of extremely bad roseacea and have tried everything from the GP to very very expensive private dermatology but the above has worked my skin looks like a twenty year old’s again. Your gp might prescribe the soolantra and metrodanizole for you
