Claire's Accessories and Accessorize - what other competitors are there in the UK and are they any good?

Anna - kind of you! - and of course confirms my feeling that if there is a gap in the market anywhere, it's for funny flatly conical little hats to be worn at a jaunty angle

The Angels range is quite inspired by Claire's, I think - it does similarly lateral things like adorable minute pink see-through staplers in teeny tiny stationery sets: so not just hairbands. (It also does just a few, rather nice, knickers, though - which Claire's doesn't.)

When I was trying to replace dd's hairband, I did just about the same market review as you did, my brief being: In what stores do I have a chance of finding this thing?

TopShop have a huge accessories range - the full works of jewellery, make up and hair. More funky - for teens and above, though I am sure some tweenagers shop there.
