Products for frizzy hair

I have thin hair which is greasy and needs washing daily. After washing it’s neither straight or curly, just a frizzy mess so for years I’ve been straightening it just because I don’t know how else to style it. I’m sick of how it looks (flat and frazzled) and would like to lean into the curls a bit more. Can anyone recommend any good products for after washing up help with this? If I scrunch dry would that help? Not mousse as that makes my hair look crispy!

This is me too, @wellbruceso I am waiting to see what is recommended! There is one thing I have tried though and that is the Aussie curl cream. It is in a big tube and is quite good

I also have fine greasy frizzy hair. I've found good results from Umberto Giannini Thirsty Curls lotion smoothed over wet hair followed by their Curl Jelly and scrunching. Also just started using Noughty To The Rescue mask which seems to be helping with the frizz without being too greasy.

Sorry, edited to say the jelly does leave my hair crispy after it dries but I then scrunch it out and it leaves nice soft curls.

Quite possibly if you have frizzy hair it would be wavy with the right treatment. I have been following the Charlotte Rich wavy hair method (see FB) for a while and though it is alot of information to absorb it does work. Your frizz is likely due to either a protein or moisture overload (see the FB page on how to work out which) and using a balance of the right products - not necessarily expensive ones - in the right cycle can tame your hair. For example I have worked out that my hair needs very little moisture and that glycerine makes it frizzy.

Aussie leave in cream and using their conditioner works well on my thick curls and my daughters more fine wavy hair

I’ve found colour wow one minute transformation styling cream is very good.

I’ve bought a cheap Garnier leave in cream thing which is supposed to calm frizz so I think I’ll just try that and maybe pack in the straightening for now. I don’t mind having wavy hair, my issue is that mine isn’t really wavy. It’s frizzy and shapeless. But when I straighten it it looks flat and limp. Would love to have thick hair with plenty of volume.

I have fine wavy/curly hair and have spent an absolute fortune on products that don’t work. The best I’ve found is Tootilab, it’s not cheap but they do travel sizes so you can try it out before committing. Also look up the Curl Maven blog for tips on styling fine waves.

Hi OP. I’d look for leave-ins or lightweight creams with ingredients like glycerin, panthenol, hydrolyzed proteins, polyquaterniums, or light silicones like dimethicone/amodimethicone. Those help smooth the cuticle without making thin hair feel heavy/crispy. A microfiber towel or cotton T-shirt makes a surprisingly difference because less friction = less frizz.

Try using curly hair shampoo and conditioner. They are silicone free and dont drag the curls down. Then once you have used that for a bit, to get rid of all the silicone in your hair, try putting some curl cream through your hair when It is wet and then dry with a diffuser.
I thought i had slightly wavy hair but it turns out i actually have ringlets!

I'm sorry to say that for my very wavy caucasian middle aged hair that only expensive Philip Kingsley products make my hair look nice. It's like magic.
Cantu and curly girl are also good, but cheaper and in Boots. It's still too expensive for me these days sadly.

No-poo method just made my hair look diabolical. I tried not washing it in the pandemic a few times and funnily enough it never self cleaned, just got worse and worse until I washed out all the dirt.
