Recommendations for non frumpy but comfy bras for fuller busts age 50+

I'm in my fifties and need some new decent bras.

I feel a bit matronly. I'm 38D and size 18.

Use to like a plunge but I'm spilling over a lot with bras I've had recently.

Do I need a minimiser? Some of these are a lot of fabric though and I don't like the sports bra/crop top type because I just feel boiling hot and gross in them.

I don't want monoboob like snag or lemonade dolls for bigger busts.

I would love cotton if poss, maybe without wires because they just seem to come out and stab me in no time now and preferably not completely frumpy. A few years ago I used to feel nice in pretty bras... But I need them functional.

Am I asking too much?

M and S get mixed reviews these days and also my experience that they feel a bit cheap now.

Just an update...my quest continues....

The Amelia minimiser is not really very comfortable for me. Feels like the wire is digging in.

I randomly tried the madame muse jelly bra. It is comfortable but does not give a good shape. Monoboob plus some spillage and that was with me following the size guide which should have been correct even if going up a cup.

I'll have a other look at some of these sigh. I have never felt so unattractive.

@Windywussi bought the Amelia in my BOB size 32H and I had to get a band expander for the band I think it must measure 29 inches around.
I’ve been following someone on Instagram that has the same bra size as me and now I’m getting all kinds of accounts with bra recommendations for bigger busts!
Panache Tango is the most comfortable bra I have found so far.

I like the front closing bras from Glamorise. They're very comfortable and easy to wear as they close on the front instead of the back, and I don't think they're the most terrible looking bras.

@Windywuss have you remeasured your size recently? I use the boob or bust measuring, it can seem a huge cup size and snug at first but then it really does make a difference.
I used to like the Panache Ana but now my favourite is the Elomi Lucie. The lace at the top of the cup is stretchy so covers any changes.
I normally get them from freemans, Grattan or JD Williams as they always have a discount code.

No, I haven't measured but I shall have to. I just thought maybe a bigger cup. Was D went to DD....it's better but though my recent purchases are comfortable (madame muse I think)... It's bloody mono boob. Awful.

Yes there is a website and they also have a facebook group. When I first measured I was way out and always uncomfortable.
Its certainly made a difference to me and not rushing to whip the bra off as soon as I get home!

A PP mentioned Miss Mary of Sweden and I’ve found they are the only bras that fit well and are comfortable.

I’m a 34 DD/E and haven’t been able to stand any underwired bras for about the last 10 years.

36H. Love Elomi - the Morgan and Lucie styles. Also love their downtime bra for when I want to be comfy around the house but not without a bra.

Well I just measured according to the website and I thought I was 38DD and it says I'm potentially 36 HH or J?? I can't believe I'm a 36 so if I go up slightly in the tight measurement it suggests I'm 38 GG. Baffling!

I don't want to form out loads and get it wrong again. I can't be a 36 surely? I'm a fattie size 18 🙈.

Unfortunately I can't go to the big shops as I'm not well so I spend most weekends close to home.

Which bras definitely won't give me monoboob? 🙈😂

@Windywuss it’s normally your dress size and no more plus 20 inches, so a 38 but most people would be less than the 38. Have a look on the facebook group, loads of information and bra recommendations.

Right...may take the plunge (no pun intended ( with Mary of Sweden. For those of you that went with this brand, did you go underwire or no underwire? Is it possible to avoid monoboob with a well structured underwire?

I measured and 38e with MoS...that seems more likely than the BoB result.

I'm 30GG and wear Panache Clara bras. They give a lovely shape and are not at all frumpy.

I wear Miss Mary of Sweden and I am a total convert since two years ago.
I wear both non wired and under wired and find them both very comfortable.
Unlike previous underwire bras I am unaware of the wire as it doesn’t dig in or feel uncomfortable at all.

Firstly agree with boob or bust. I’m a 30G and a size 10-12. My favourite everyday bra is the panache 365 plunge. I have 4 of them. I’m quite bottom heavy in shape so don’t like a full cup. For a fancy bra I wear Simone Perele, also a plunge but it’s more comfortable in a 32FF.
