Where can I find a flowing two-piece trouser set on the high street?

Please help me find a two piece trousers set/suit, flowing fabric and top, long or culottes length trousers. Temu etc all have really nice looking sets but im not buying from them. Looking for UK high street stores that stock them.

I'm not sure where you'd get that sort of thing on the high street, OP - my suggestions from various high-street retailers will have been way wide of the mark.

Those plain top/patterned trouser sets are not current in their style, tbh - they're very different to what's in the shops, & IMO old-fashioned. They'll also almost certainly be polyester. I've even done a Google search for similar, & all that comes up is Temu, Shein, Ali Express etc.

If that's specifically what you're after, why not order those? Maybe someone else with better knowledge of the physical high street might be able to help - as I'm afraid I do almost all my shopping by looking online at what's out there, & then buying in sales/on eBay or Vinted!

Thanks @EleanorMc67 i don’t like buying from those places. Hadn’t realised it was old fashioned as was coming up in my social feeds as things I might like. I will have a good look into the other things you sent. Thanks again

Social feeds are funny things! Do you want the top to be long-sleeved & flowy/wide-cut too?

EleanorMc67 · 05/05/2026 16:44

Thing is, if you want a plain top & trousers that match exactly - ie they don't look as if you've bought them separately, you'll need to buy them as a set, which is trickier as most are either plain + plain or patterned + patterned.

The alternative is to buy them from a store that colour-matches all its clothes really well, so that the mustard shade used in say, a plain linen top, is the exact mustard used in a pair of black & mustard linen trousers? So that even though they're not sold/marketed as a coords set, they will look exactly colour-matched & become a set when put together?

EleanorMc67 · 05/05/2026 19:54

These are patterned sets (in khaki, blue & black), not plain & patterned.

However, I think they're really nice as, because they're not shirt-style tops, they don't look like pyjamas. They're also a viscose/silk blend, which will be cool & floaty. Reviews are excellent.

The bad thing is - they're sold out in all three colourways ... 😶

But - I would register for re-stocking alerts if you like them - & you never know, they might come back in. Or keep an eye on Vinted/eBay?

These are also rather nice - though much more dramatic. Looks more like a loose jumpsuit as, again, it's not a button-through pyjama-style top. Though again, currently sold out ...!!!

You could wear a cream silk-viscose mix top with the trousers (but it won't look like coords!). I'd thought they might have some plain matching tops in the teal or toffee colours, but no.

The same company does lots of variants on plain coordinates, mostly in satin. But no other patterned trousers (apart from leopard print satin palazzo pants & matching camisole). Here's a link to the sets, which to me are more evening wear.

Anthropologie has quite a few patterned trouser sets, but they're mostly beachy-looking (second pic). You mentioned blues, greens, mustards as being colours you like. This green & cream one is quite cute & again looks quite jumpsuit-y - but you could pair the trousers with a cream top, either under the shirt or on its own.

Mango's offerings. As I mentioned above, depending on the retailer, "co-ords" or sets, or whatever they might choose to call them, can just mean any two matching items of clothing - which might also include anything from trouser suits through to bikinis! Not much that I'd consider "flowing" either - lots of suits & denim. These are probably closest.

I saw this the other day and thought what a striking set it was. Not in real life, just online.

I love the matching plain sets, they look so comfy. River Island have loads.

Yes, I like the Scherezade vibe of the top & trousers together - also good in that rich olive green.

Some of the plain ones are nice, yes, especially the cotton/linen/viscose blends.

But I keep seeing people on here mention RI as being really good now, so just had a look through & was really disappointed by all the synthetics & nylon-y mesh & garish colours/patterns. I thought a lot of it looked quite cheap & tacky. Yes, I'm no longer its target audience, but it annoys me when cheap-looking stuff is fobbed off on younger women.

However, I did notice their collaboration with Cabbages & Roses, which is great! Really lovely romantic florals in modern shapes - including a few very co-ord sets. Not what the OP will be after - but I thought I'd post some images just because of the total cuteness!! Love the styling of the shoot too - clashing wallpaper & flushed cheeks ...

They're all lovely - plus, as well as the fabric being a linen/viscose blend, the lining is organic cotton. The giant check set is cute too.

EleanorMc67 · 05/05/2026 23:04

OP - again, not what you were originally after, but there might be some potential in these from River Island. Think some may be quite stiff/thick fabric though.

This green River Island set is linen mix, as are these floral trousers - & the plain top goes well with them?

OP, these are the two patterned versions of the Nobody's Child linen-blend set that @SoScarletItWas posted above. The tops aren't long-sleeved, but they look like loose & comfy summer sets.

Well, the OP wants patterned trousers, not plain! I'm just throwing them out there! And they do look pretty cute on the model ...
